MM after-dinner pour.  The wife was watching the Oscar’s red carpet so I thought a double was appropriate.  She decided to switch so, win-win for me.

I am ok with the hot chicks in various state of dress but then again I am ok with drinking bourbon and pretending to be interested in what my wife is watching on television.  I have become quite the Hallmark fan without ever really watching a Hallmark movie uninterrupted or without drinking bourbon.  It may have happened but I don't remember.  😀

I killed a bottle of Rossville Union BIB because thinning the herd is a thing.  I then followed up with a pour or two of FRSiB.  OK, it was three.  Now I am watching the Weakest Link.

Drinking four roses small batch select. I don’t see where the hype is when the single barrel is cheaper and better.  Does anybody have any input as to how old forester 1920 compares to the 1910 bib, etc.  Additionally, are there any bourbons or ryes for that matter, that have inordinately high amounts of barley. I know that mgp has a nearly half barley half rye mash bill.  Thank you for any answers.

I’m not aware of any “hype” of the 4R Small Batch Select that you refer to, but I would be one who enjoys it very much, even after a less than positive opinion of it after my first bottle.  The mingled Small Batch Select is a completely different animal compared to the OBSV Single Barrel.  So, individual preferences surface here, I think.

I'm not aware of any hype for Small Batch Select.

For my palate OF1920 wins over 1910 in a landslide. They are very different animals though. 1910 is a double barreled bourbon so it has a very different profile and is not for everyone.

Is there an option greater than a landslide?  It must be the char.  I find 1910 to have a sickening sweet characteristic similar to an oversweet cola.  I do like the 1915 blend.  I really like 1920 but over the past few years I have been more than happy with OF100 and OF Statesman.

Totally agree on the sickening sweet. And also agree that as much as I love 1920 it's really hard to beat 100 and Statesman.

I’m right there with you guys in that sickening sweet thing on the 1910.  It even goes the artificial saccharine like route with me.  Not a fan, at all.  I love the Statesman.

Easy to understand this stance...

I bought a bottle of the 1910 & my SIL gifted me another over a year and a half ago. I'm still on this bottle and doubt I will buy another.

I actually prefer the WFDO over the 1910 and even at that, tend to use the WRDO as an old fashioned ingredient. The 1920 has it's mood period, but the OF100 or a store pick is more a goto...

I'm sorry, I am caught up in this same scene, but if you "know" this information off the top of your head then your slip is showing... 😛

I can’t seem to string more than 2 good office days in a row before the clown show starts.  So, deciding to go to one of my better opened bottles to see if I can change my mojo for tomorrow.  A 10 year Weller 100 proof sounds like it might do the trick.  Oh, the slightly burnt brown sugar sweetness is delightful.  And, it’s a heavy pour.  Very thick and coating.  😋

I love it when you have a pour from the BHC collection, and your display and other BHC bottles are in the background. 😎
