How long did you have this bottle?  😀

I had it for several years, I'm sure.   But, one needs to take into account that many here (me included) have had bottles, far longer than I had this one.    Further, It's not that I 'didn't like it'; I just struggled to find much I really did love about it.   It was fine neat; just not fabulous.    Every Bourbon I (or anyone else, I suspect) pours isn't going to blow one's hair back like WLW or GTS, or whatever.     I still have many bottles that fall into the same category... an expected side-effect of trying lotsa Bourbons.

Also, if you knew me, you'd understand how bad a Bourbon has to be for me to 'pour it out' (down the drain, or whatever); yet I have done exactly such on some rare occasions.   I am an admittedly miserly old faht!   I didn't accumulate the massive wealth I have (well into the dozens of dollars!) by wasting very much of anything. HA!

Just noticed a WT Rare Breed in the back of the closet. Used to be in the rotation but have found it to be scarce here. Popped and I remember why it was in the rotation!!  Damn fine Bourbon. Hits all the right notes.

Lately, I have been a BIG fan of all these toasted bourbons. Woodford DO was my introduction into the world of twice Barrelled and for that they still reign king. Holiday Toast is another fantastic toast. 1910 and EC as well. I also cannot forget the offering from Memphis’s own Blue Note Crossroads. Blues in a bottle!!

tonight I’m enjoying Penelope Toasted. Coming in at 119 proof, it is amazing!  Penelope is a severely underrated bourbon imo. I get loads of orange one the palate and a nutty nose.

Hope everyone is enjoying their evening. I sure am.

I’ve spent the better part of the last two days on computer connectivity issues.  Done!!!  A large pour of Weller 12 to celebrate.

Rich, I get it.  I was just yanking your chain. There are many bourbons I love but few that blow my socks off.  I do find when I find a bottle meh, I will set it aside.  Then if I still find it meh after a while, I will add it to the bottle empty rotation. I will finish the bottle, recycle it, and get my green ribbon.  I guess I also recycle the bourbon although I believe post-consumer it is less desirable.  😀

Show off!  How many of us are drinking from an open bottle in a same brand glass?  Cue the FR, KC, BT fans...

Cool glass!

I am drinking a super sexy, top notch, multi-generational straight bourbon whiskey of high quality and reasonable price.

Fortunately for us, there are lots of options that meet this criteria.  But, the masterpiece of which I speak is OF100.

I drink bourbon solely because computers and the internet frustrate me.  Not really, but it is as good of an excuse as any.  I celebrate your success but with OF100.

This one is almost ready for the empty bottle support group thread.

I've really enjoyed this one, and happy that I have a spare.

Old Forester SiB 100 proof barrel pick.   My palate was in the mood for that crisp fruitiness that only OF provides.

Started with the OF training wheels, 86 proof. On to a healthy dram of RR Sib.  Something about this stuff makes me want to smoke a cigar. Something even stronger about staying married makes that idea a non-starter.

I have the same bottles open in the liquor cabinet for some time now.. Woodford, Larceny, 4R single barrel, Angel’s Envy. I am looking for ward to opening something new, just to shake things up a bit. Not that I’m complaining mind you.

Just opened the last last bottle I have of  Evan Williams BIB (Green Label), a gify from my baby boy, Gary.    Pretty damned nice Bourbon!   (Especially for small price it went for back in the day!)

I'll have a short pour in a "glencairn-mini", then decide what to do next.....

I was thinking the same thing.  Looking at the profiles of what you have on hand (WR = fruity, Larceny = HH wheated nuttiness, 4R = floral spiciness, AE = sweet?) I was thinking to myself this man needs an oaky bourbon to round out his already nice variety.  Might I suggest a KC9 for your next purchase?  I think that would be a nice addition to what is already a good list.
