Summer already?  Started with a couple of pours of FRSiB.  It is back to its spectacular self.  This barrel is stellar.  Followed up with a couple of pours of Still Austin Barrel Strength.  Both are enjoyable. 74 degrees F at close to 10 pm in the Indy area.  Nice summer evening.  Summer pours are always special.

Dickel BiB 11 yr distilled in 2008.  Pretty tasty with cherry and citrus notes.  Delicious.  No Flintstones vitamins at all.  My wife usually hates Dickel because of the vitamin note but I handed her the glass and she said, "Oh, this is good.  What is it?" Haha.

74 degrees?  That ain't summer!  😉

100 degrees across Texas for the next week:  now that is summer! 😅

So I pull out my big cubes of ice from the freezer.  Prideful Goat 15yr in my  glass, over a big cube.  Cheers!🥃

Had very surprising blind barrel proof bourbon bracket results this weekend.  We probably could have broken it down further, but it's hard when you're having 12 barrel proofs:

-Woodford BP, 124.7 Proof

-Larceny C922 BP, 126.6 Proof

-1792 Store Pick, 125.0 Proof

Winner: Larceny BP

Round 2:

-Blanton's SFTB, 130.1 Proof

-Four Roses BS, 110.0 Proof

-Elijah Craig C922 BP, 124.8 Proof

-Benchmark FP, 125.0 Proof

Winner: Elijah BP

Round 3:

-Stagg Jr, 131.1 Proof

-Old Forester SBBS, 131.9 Proof

-Makers Mark CS, 110.7 Proof

-Jack Daniel's BP, 128.9 Proof

Winner: Old Forester SBBS

Round 4:

Larceny C922 BP, 126.6 Proof

Elijah C922 BP, 124.8 Proof

Old Forester SBBS, 131.9 Proof

Overall Winner:

Old Forester SBBS, 131.9 Proof

Sipping from a DSP KY-14 OGD BIB as my end of business day pour.  Talk about heavy mouthfeel!

Maybe not the best choice on warm summer's days, but Sagamore DO today. I love that stuff.

That’s the stuff that started my journey.  I have one left.  I need to open it soon but it hurts to know that there is no replacing it once it is gone.

I confused.  SO! The title should be,  “What bourbon are you drink tonight?”?  What sense THAT make?  Sister Mary  Cookiejar, that four foot tall nun with the BIG ruler who taught English grammar, be rolling around right now.  Mother Duck!  We all going to perdition.😔

Is JD BIB from DSP-TENN-1 which has me by the short hairs tonight.  Nats vs. Mariners in Seattle is moving in front of me. I sure hope I stay awake at least through the fifth inning.

A good buddy of mine gave me this sample well over a year ago. It's EC12 bottled in the 1986 (which I believe is one of the first years for EC12.

This is magical. The complexity, for a 94 prooofer, is astounding.

The color is a little darker than how it looks in the photo. This is only the 2nd pour of prefire heaven hill I've ever had. The other was 15yr Virgin Bourbon 101 from the early to mid 90s. Both are incredible.

OF Statesman here, after 9 hours of driving wrapped around a call on a great customer that went pretty well.  I had to use some statesmanship, to work through a couple of delicate and minor friction points that I wanted to clean up to everyone’s satisfaction.  Still some work to  do, but it’ll get done.  Not quite U Thant work here, but I just sell plastic…🤣🤣

Love the reference to Statesman(ship). 😎 It sounds like selling plastics is similar to selling tooling and other items for manufacturing. My son has similar stories.  🤯

Small pour of MM  in the glass shortly.  🥃
