Got the new Wild Turkey American Spirit 15yo today. I wasn't in the store looking for it. Actually a Laphroaig 30yo Single Malt, but couldn't pass it up as well as ANOTHER Pappy Van Winkle 15yo and a Sazerac Rye the 6yo.

finally went and got that 1.75 Eagle Rare 10 single barrel...last week almost bought the 750ml...at $25. this hefty bottle rang up at a mere $36...a nice PLCB "closeout"...

on first pour, walked out in the dark on crunchy leaves...great nose, sharp taste (for the proof)...and nice butterscotch finish (at least this first time)! a definite bargain:grin:

I was really hoping to have my antiques by now but the places I get them from don't have the BTAC yet. At around 6:45 I decided that I was trying the 07' GTS tonight and headed off to PA. Just over an hour later I returned home with 2 bottles of GTS! Can't wait to side by side this with the 06'! The price wasn't bad, $53.99 I believe. I heard there was an increase in price this year but I also heard that last year and got them from the usual place for $42.99 each so who knows. I'm certainly not complaining either way.

1 Old Forester Signature it was on sale for $15.99 and is 100 proof, not a big fan of the standard Old Forester at 86 proof but I think this will be worth my $15.99.

I struck out on the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, they sold out on the first day of their release over a week ago.

Went hunting a found a couple things...3 bottles of Old Fitzgerald BIB (DSP-16), a bottle of Johnny Drum 86 proof, and a 1.75 of JTS Brown 86 proof which says limited edition on the label.

Another trip to PA netted me 2 07' WLW's. I can't wait to have some but I think it's going to have to wait till Friday. It'll give me something to look forward to during the long week at work ahead of me. :/

Stopped by a liquor store I seldom frequent to pick up a bottle of wine my wife wanted. Found out they had GTS and ER 2007 just sitting on the shelf, looking lonely and unwanted. Not that I need any more, but I have a big heart (and thirst) so I decided to give a bottle of each a home.

Stopped at a new place on the way home tonight...Nice guy the owner. He had one bottle of the Spring 2005 Stagg on the shelf, go figure I was missing that one. Well not any more, and he gave me 2 calendars (Car's and something for the garage...like the old snap-on tool calendars). He said he would get me another bottle, but I told him not of this? He said i can order it! and I declined.

I don't know how long ago they arrived in PA but on Sun when I was looking for the WLW I was in a few stores that looked as if they hadn't sold a single BTAC bottle. Gotta go to the stores that say "Premium Collection" on them, I don't think the regular ones had any BTAC bottles.

I went out looking to make purchases for some members here and grabbed two WT 12yo Gold Foils w/tins in excellent shape for $46.99. I also spotted two Bush Pilot Reserves, 13yo single barrel candian whiskeys. $24.99 each and I've only read about these here at SB.com, never seen or tasted one. These have 1982 Canadian excise tax stamps. As I recall, A-B pushed its muscle around and had the importer drop the product back in the mid '90's ..... let's see "Bush Pilot Reserve" can be confused with "Busch" beer.

PS WT Tributes were notably missing during my hunt.

PSS "Victor" has the full VW lineup right now. ORVW 10/90, 10/107, VWFR 13yo rye, Lot B 12yo, Pappy 15, 20 and 23. First time I've seen the entire lineup in one store in a while. He also has last years Handy and W Larue Weller.

From what I have read here on SB.com I have to conclude that Texas has the best dusties.

Puppy used to come up with some great ones in SoCal but TX has all kinds of Turkeys and Eagles.

I reserved a bunch of '07 BTAC from ABC, and it finally showed up.

• 3 bottles (1 case) of William Larue Weller

• 1 bottle of Stagg (I'm waiting on getting more since it should be available for some time)

They were supposed to send me a case of Handy, but they sent 2 cases of Saz instead. One bottle was already gone (one of the ABC employees got it), so I took the rest. I ended up with 1/12th of Virginia's entire allotment. You just never know what you'll find... :bigeyes: And sometimes it helps to have the right connections. :grin:

Plus he had some Evan Williams White Label BIB sitting in the back room, so I got that too. Don't know anything about it, but it'll be interesting to compare it to the Old Heaven Hill BIB I have sitting right next to it in my bunker.
