ratcheer
Inspired by another thread, tonight I came home looking for an Old Fashioned recipe that I would have the ingredients to make. And I found one and made it. I have never had an Old Fashioned that I really enjoyed, but this one is delicious.Orange peel, sugar, and Angostura bitters (8 dashes !!) muddled in a glass. Three ounces whiskey (I used Wild Turkey 101 bourbon, the recipe called for Sazerac rye). Ice cubes. That's all. I am drinking it, right now. As I said, it is delicious. :yum:TimPS - The flavor is very dark and spicy. This would be a perfect winter drink.
smokinjoe
Tim, I'm having another one of your gin rickey's. These hit the spot on these hot Georgia afternoons. Next up.....whatever bourbon they have at the restaurant we're off to.Cheers!JOE

Gillman
Small tastes of a variety of whiskeys: a bourbon blend I made with a touch of vintage port (superb on the rocks); Wiser's Very Old (excellent indeed as mentioned in other threads); and another blend I did of CC, CC Sherry Cask and the sherry-forward Three Grain from Kittling Ridge. Life is good, but smoggy and hot in the GTA at the moment.Gary

PhilsFan
I bought my first bottle of Pappy 15 almost 3 weeks ago, before I went on vacation...saved opening it until now. It was definitely worth the wait and is an instant favorite.-Joe
gothbat
A Manhattan that I made with WT101. It tastes almost exactly like the ones I was drinking in NY on the 4th (I used 101 instead of 80 (all they had)) and almost nothing like the ones I get around here (which I've sort of grown to like). Normally I would only drink these out but my brother is in Spain and thats who I usually go to the bar with so I stayed in.

callmeox
I went to install a wireless router and do some general computer maintenance for my nephew and I took some Evan Williams Black and a 2L of Coke Zero. Over ice, it really hit the spot in his insanely hot house (no A/C, poor kid).
