PhilsFan
After scouring Louisville and making calls to Frankfort, Bardstown and Lexington, and coming up empty, I located a stash of 3 hard to find Colonel Lee 100 bibs at a small store here in town and gladly paid 9.99 apiece for them. I'm not sure if you could call them dusties, since they were bottled in '99, but I assure you they'd been on the shelf awhile and we had to wipe the dust off them!-Joe

So I walked out with a $16.00 bottle of WT Rye and a $74.99 bottle of GTS"I think you more than lost the $1.99 savings!Hey, Milwaukee is pretty close....maybe if I ever organize a tasting you can swing down to McHenry, IL. smokinjoe
Today, picked up a 2005 OFBB, Weller Antique 107, Benchmark Single Barrel, and, for Kicks and Giggles, a McCarthy's Pot Distilled Whiskey. Saving the OFBB and BSB for later. The Weller was exceptional. The McCarthy's... was...weird...kinda...like...scotch...yeah...scotch...I state now, even though it is only 3 yrs old, it is the best scotch I have ever tasted!!! I generally don't care for peaty malts, but I can tolerate the McCarthy's. Probably has something to do with being made in Oregon.

Ryan
I just got back from buying my friend a bottle of 12 year Jameson for a house warming gift. While I was there I could not resist the urge to pick up my first bottle of Elmer T. Lee. I also spotted a bottle of Very Special Old Fitzgerald 12 year. I thought it was special, but wasn't sure, so of course I came to SB to find out. Now that I have done a little reading I think I will stop back by after work! JamesW
Picked up a bottle of ORVW 10/90. I've never had it, always buy the higher 107 which is a definite favorite. The only reason I got it was the price - the guy at my store gave it to me for $24 as a bonus for being a great customer... it was his last ORVW of any kind (the price tag said $34). With prices going up and supply tight I figured why not. It goes in the bunker for a rainy day when I have no more 107's I guess
craigthom
Nice Haul! It gives me hope to see that Louisville hasn't been picked clean yet!-JoeNo joke. I really need to start stopping at all those little stores I pass. I drive around a lot for work, and I like to take different routes to keep things interesting. I just assumed you guys had picked the town clean, but now I see I am wrong.
Jono
I have not tried any of our purchases yet...from our KY run...I plan on a flight of them tonight...but my brother-in-law tried the JTS Brown and the Henry McKenna and gave thumbs up to both. He said the McKenna has a sweeter taste.....he drank them neat...next time will add a little ice. Looking forward to my flight of OGD 100, JTS, McKenna and Old Charter. Wonderboy
Got me a bottle of Elijah Craig 12YO today after a lengthy search round Sheffield.Got it home and just had a generous pour over 2 ice cubes. Have to admit it started a bit "full on" but when the ice melted a touch it opened up and had a lovely butterscotchy (almost sweet) finish. I can see why it divides opinion (hits the throat almost as strongly as Knob Creek) but for the money it's just incredible.
HipFlask
Today I picked up some 07 Thomas Handy, a Rittenhouse BIB, and some WTKS.
