WT 12 export before dinner and Pappy 15 with the hazelnut cake for dessert and as a nightcap. It was the last out of the Pappy and it was barely ok and not more than that. This brand has been out of the scene for a wile, but come back at a very higher price recently. I will not replace this bottle at that price.

I opened up my 4R1B Cork 'N Bottle selection #13, a very good choice by Brian.

Not as sweet as the McScrooges selection but head and shoulders above other 1B.

To butt in an answer, it was distilled 4-23-99, 121.2prf.

These Binny's bottles are absolutley the best you can get.

The OBSK (also used for the 1B 120th LE) and the OESO, 2-10-99 116.6 (also used for the 1B 40th LE) are what I like to call polar opposites and a couple of my all time favorites.

What he said. Bottle #1 of 100 for what it's worth.

I've gone thru at least one of those C & B bottles too Oscar and they are just as you describe. I think I might even prefer that drier C & B over the sweeter McScrooge's, but both are great, "push-your-mother-down-the-stairs-for-a-bottle" kinda whiskeys.

Last night I saw Rush in concert with my best friend from elementary/junior high school (we first met around 1968, and just reconnected last weekend after not seeing each other since 1978). We were drinking dusty OWA, and I also had a vatting of Pappy 15 and ORVW 10/107 in a flask. A great time!

More maker's 46 tonight. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. I think after last night's several pours from this bottle, it has opened up a bit and has improved.

It's been a great weekend. Friday night my wife and I went to Ruth's Chris for our 32nd anniversary and I had an amazing filet and Blanton's. Saturday my brother-in-law invited us over for steaks and I brought with a flask of AAA. No steak today, but Pappy 15 and I are enjoying Sunday night football.

I'm still push-starting my Pinto. Now that I'm in for the evening, I think I'll reach for....ummm....Weller SR it is.

I cut the bottom off my Alero and I have been "Flintstoning" it ever since. The gas savings have been tremendous.

Oh and I'm drinking some 02 WTKS, some of which should be making its way to MN very soon...

Hitting a little 17yr Old Willett 107 proof. What a mouth feel. There is so much in this that it is hard to describe. Everything you want out of a good bourbon. Cream, vanilla, balance, long complex finish and no burn. One hell of a good juice.... makes me want to go into the distillation biz....

OGDBIB 1.75L from 1997. Although I do not have a current bottle on hand (will change that soon), I really think this is different, in a good way, than the current stuff.

I swear, when they changed the bottle to add an actual handle, instead of the comfortable curved hand dimples, the whiskey changed with it. I've noticed a lot more spice and alcohol burn with the current stuff. This 1997 however; is delicious!

I have a liter from a few years earlier and it is surprisingly good, considering how crummy some of the 86s from later are. The mouthfeel is really great. It's so thick and rich for an 86 proof whiskey. They must have still been putting some 414 juice into the mix at that point.

Regular Weller 12.

It's been open for about a week now and it's really oxygenating well. I should have bought a case of 1.75's of this.

I feel like I'm listening to a commercial when you mention these expressions...
