Picked up a bottle of RHF since I don't normally see it on the shelves of the VA ABC store. Might have been a special order that was never picked up.

What area of Va are you shopping in.... several bourbon focused ABC's in No. Va. have it on a regular basis....

Richmond area. Anyone recommend a Richmond area ABC outlet for bourbon/scotch selection. Short Pump and VA Center commons are the best I have found.

Picked up a bottle of Basil Hayden's while out at lunch today. A little present to myself for fathers day weekend.

I'm down to one RR 101 bourbon in the bunker so I thought it was time to snag a RR 90 (old label) at $25. The cork is actually in one piece too, as I just opened it.

Can't help in Richmond. If in No. Va. you may want to try the ABC at-

Engleside Plaza Shopping Center

8628-B Richmond Highway

Alexandria, Virginia 22309

They always seem to have decent selection of things folks have special ordered. Also one of the best scotch stores..... possibly given it is close to Belvoir.

I do a lot of KCBS judging (BBQ) and in my travels have hit most of the ABC stores south of DC along the 95 corridor... all carry the basic stuff and not much more.

Did you pick up the Whistlepig in KY? Does TPS carry it yet?

Yup, that's where I got it.

In an amazing store I purchased:

2 handles of Rebel Yell 90 proof - no UPC

1 handle of Yellowstone 91 proof, 7 years - no UPC

1 liter of Old Hickory

1 liter of Fighting Cock - 8 year

1 liter of AAA ten tear - old label

1 750, 1 375, and 1 200 of OGD 114 (no UPC)

1 375 Peregrin (decided to give it a try)

1 375 Kentucky Tavern

1 Even WIlliams Commerative in Jug

All of these had real SC tax stamps (except the EW) which were discontinued around 1982.

And I just scratched the surface of what he had in the store.

I also picked up a 2003 and 2004 OFBB at another store

Knob Creek Single Barrel, Loch&Key (Julio's) selection - sampled it in the store - fantastic. And for just the next couple of days, $31.99.

I'm betting you weren't hunting in Indy. Outside of WT products I had little to no luck there (although I did leave an Old Charter from the BHC on the shelf).

Picked up a bottle of Lot B with an April 2011 bottling date. The stash of older bottles at the store I used to pick through finally ran out.
