smokinjoe
Just, a great end to the weekend. Slept in today, then, MrsSmokinjoe and I go to Starbuck's, ran 3 miles, cut the grass, went to pool, grilled massive ribeyes on Weber, ate 'em with corn on cob and big garden salad, so....sittin out back with a snifter 1/3 full of WT Tribute, while the girls bake chocolate chip cookies...I deserve none of this...but, I'll take it! :toast:
bigtoys
Last night, I had a barrel aged Manhattan at the Girl & the Goat (chef Stephanie Izard is Top Chef season 4 winner). It's a single barrel from BT. The bourbon, vermouth and bitters were aged in the barrel. They had to figure how many "dashes" of bitters to add. here's a link to the story: http://drinks.seriouseats.com/2011/04/barrel-aged-cocktails-girl-and-goat-stephanie-izard-how-to-barrel-age-cocktails.html We sat at the counter overlooking one of the prep stations. Very interesting. They never stop working. The menu is small plates to share, so there are plenty to prepare. Here's a kitchen shot. The pig's face (actually the cheek) dish
ethangsmith
Had some Mellow Corn followed by Hirsch Corn Whiskey all while watching the firetrucks fight a fire a few doors up. Severe smoke damage on the second floor is about the extent of it. A firefighter cut himself badly and we got some Clorox and towels to help clean up the blood. JFenwick
Just poured a bit of the AH Hirsch 20. Just one drink for tonight, so poured one of my favorites (but the ER101 Lawrenceburg is still best for me).

sailor22
Very Old Barton Bottled in Bond. The first pour tasted so good I poured another. I think it is one of the best bargains in Bourbon today.

moose
Tasting my first pour of JBB, pretty smooth, but a little harsh on the nose, not picking up very many unique notes. Not a bad drink though however.

Young Blacksmith
my evening cocktail - ginger ale, bitters, and bourbon - made with Bulleit today. Then on to some EWSB '99. So far this vintage has been my favorite. I told myself I must finish 3 bottles before I buy another......
G.H.Adams
My order of JB Devils Cut and Early Times 354 Bourbon was delivered today. I am having a pour of Devils Cut now. I don't know what I feel about this. It tastes like a higher proof JB Black and also leans towards the Bakers flavor profile to me.I will say that it is an easy drinker for 90 proof. Will try the Early Times 354 next.
fishnbowljoe
Gary and the other guys from my bowling team play in a bocce ball league in the summer. I went to watch them tonight. They played good and won both their games. I had some MM 46 while watching. After all, it is the BOTM ya' know. It tasted pretty darn good tonight.
