So I know that Fall 2011 PVW15 isn't the worst thing on earth, as I enjoyed a pour of that before torturing myself with several sips of Corner Creek. And down the sink the CC went...and on to a pour of PVW20 from the spring allocation, open about six months.

Perhaps the new 15 isn't all that, as I preferred my previous bottle of 15 from the spring allocation (exact bottling date unknown) to the 20. I can't say that about tonight's imbibing.

Enjoying a pour (or three) of Old Bardstown "Estate Bottled" 101 proof bourbon tonight. I've never had it before but I found it in Columbia, SC over Thanksgiving weekend and I thought I would try it. I like most of the other KBD offerings (especially Pure Kentucky) so I was intrigued. It has a really fine flavor and I'll probably pick up another bottle over the Christmas weekend.

I opened an EW SB. Everytime I get a bottle I think "why don't I buy more of this?" I followed that with Blanton's. The first few pours of Blantons I previously had left me unimpressed, it just seemed flat, not a lot of bold flavors. Last night I picked up on a lot more spice I associate with ryes and some mint. Worth the $45? No, but at least and enjoyable venture in trying something different.

Had a Weller 12 then a vatting of EWSB 2001 and EWB. The vatting was really good, the EWSB was sweet on the start, but a disappointing finish, where the EWB was the opposite. The vatting fixed it!

Enjoying my first taste of Mellow Corn (thanks to TPS' free shipping). This is damn tasty and definitely mellow. I can't believe this is 100 proof.

WTKS, and if I may say, "Eh."

The bottle they were pouring at Chicago Whiskey Fest 2011 was definitely a "honey" bottle.

Some Masterson's rye tonight. Not completely in love with it, but digging it more than Jefferson's.

The Jefferson's was like a single note to me, Masterson's is more like a nice chord.

Four Roses, OESO barrel proof 10 yrs 8 months. Nice pour, though it may need to open up for a month or so!

Some good pours this week - a few from a delicious bottle of FRSB OESO 10 years old, some Lot B, and some OWA.

Bowling night. What can I say? Let's see...... (in no particular order) Yellowstone, 09 ER 17, EH Taylor SB BIB, and Everett's Weller SR. And to have some fun with some friends on another team, Beam Devil's Cut, and (God forgive me :70358-devil: ) Red Stag. It was a fun night.

I am enjoying a 50/50 mix between OGD 114 and Willett Rye 3YO 110. The Willet rye leaves just a slight bitter aftertaste and I was trying to solve that without too much impact on the overall flavor. The nose is good with both coming through, mid palate is strong with flavors of both and the bitter aftertaste is gone. The finish of the rye was toned down. Overall, an excellent vatting IMHO.

Nice pour of OFBB 06. As it's been open for a bit on the bar, the nose in the glass tonight is really hitting a nice spot.

It's kind of strange, I am almost enjoying the smell more than the taste. Weird, but nice.

The last several pours in my last bottle of Maker's 46.

I don't care what anyone says, I like this iteration. It has enough flavor to hold my attention, I swear I can taste the cognac influence from the added staves, and I like that. I think I'll get a bottle or two for making eggnog this Christmas.

Some FRSB this afternoon, then some EW BIB this evening while watching Dexter with the wife. This season's very, very good, IMHO.

Don't care much for the M46 (don't think it's bad... just doesn't do much for me).

But now you have me intrigued: the extra spiciness would be great in eggnog. I may have to pick up a bottle for the holidays.

Speaking of eggnog, I have a bottle of Bonded OF that I'm planning to try in eggnog soon. It has an overwhelming amount of that old bourbon/spiced rum flavor that I anticipate will be perfect for eggnog. What is everyone else using in their 'nog this season?
