mosugoji64
Having a pour of 1913 Stitzel Weller's Original. Tastes like chicken. You should try it in Coke. That's the only way to REALLY enjoy such a classic whiskey!
Clavius
The last of a bottle of Old Rip 10/107. Kinda sad to see it go as it's my last bottle. But on the other hand, I really enjoyed it!
jeanraulmitchell
The last of a bottle of Old Rip 10/107. Kinda sad to see it go as it's my last bottle. But on the other hand, I really enjoyed it!That's what I'm drinking too. It's relatively a new bottle but I poured half in another bottle & recently put them back together after a month or something. So, it has had some oxygen and it's tasting really good right now.

Tucker
Just finished up a bottle of 2002 EWSB. At about 1/3 full this became my dump bottle and the EWSB mingled with a little Forty Creek, FR yellow, and Jefferson's rye. Not altogether bad, but now it's time to open something good. smokinjoe
Just lovin' on a SB Buffalo Trace. Chewy, leathery, and fantastic. Sort of a saddle soap, smackin', touch of sweetness, goodness. The signature BT has been totally in my wheelhouse the last couple of years. The thing I really love about it, is it's touch of distinctiveness. I can pick it out from the crowd. And, that's a damn good thing!! Everything doesn't have to be vanilla, caramel, and blah, blah, blah.
mosugoji64
Wrapping up the day with some '11 WLW. This stuff is always amazing. I love the pipe tobacco and candied apple that I get out of it.
JB64
Having a couple of pours from a WT101 handle I got on sale for $28. This is one of my favorite everyday bourbons at the normal cost. At the sale price it is almost a steal. What is SB Buffalo Trace?

Tucker
Long. Week.Dropped off three of my four boys at school this morning. Hallelujah. Just a half-day, but the first day of school is always a celebration.So...now that work is over I'm enjoying a nice pour of my supercharged SB blend (2 parts OWA, 2 parts W12, 1 part WLW). gburger
I was in Longview Texas last week and found a bottle of Forty Creek Confederation Oak Reserve, and remembered some got reviews on it. It is a nice smooth pour. To me it does not have the extra flavor that I tend to enjoy, but is nice for newcomers or when you just want to drink something without thinking too much about it. Also picked up a replacement bottle of WR double Oaked.

smokinjoe
Reached back for an '04 Eagle Rare 17. The beautiful thing about this whiskey, is that you would never suggest that it is too woody. Even at 17 years in the barrel. That in itself, is quite remarkable.

BFerguson
Rough night, took a huge spill out bicycling yesterday. Mostly just my pride hurt more than anything. Good thing for helmets-just need to get a new one now-Cracked the old one good! Head is ok. Extra heavy comparison pours of Weller 12 and Lot B. Now, I just need to work out the general stiffness for the spill. Going to be a slow day. B
Tucker
Sacrilege to the guy above for blending WLW. Enjoying the evening with a '10 WLW.The guy above likes his Weller any way he can take it. And he's got plenty, so it's not like it's going to waste.
bad_scientist
Sacrilege to the guy above for blending WLW.Enjoying the evening with a '10 WLW.I think WLW is a blending superstar. Yesterday I mixed 3 parts ND OGD 86, 1 part WLW, and a splash of Bulleit rye, and after a few minutes to mix, it tasted great! It seems that the WLW imparts its rich, buttery thickness to a blend, even when it's a relatively small part of it.

And he's got plenty, so it's not like it's going to waste. Now if that guy was pouring WLW in Coke . . . I might agree (but then again, what one does with their whiskey is their business). That blend sounds pretty interesting actually! If you can take a small amount of something wonderful and bump up another bottle of something else a couple of notches - makes sense to me.
