Now if that guy was pouring WLW in Coke . . . I might agree (but then again, what one does with their whiskey is their business).

That blend sounds pretty interesting actually! If you can take a small amount of something wonderful and bump up another bottle of something else a couple of notches - makes sense to me.

Doug gets royalties on the "Supercharged SB Blend". :D

No WLW in mine, but having the best pour of SB blend I've ever had ... I think a 1.75:1 OWA to W12 will be the new go-to.

Enjoying some FR1B OESF while watching the Olympics...damn fine bourbon with lots of white fruit and some fall spice. I was never really a fan of the "F" yeast until this past spring when we had the opportunity to pick from some of the oldest stocks in FR's rickhouses...this one has a great mouthfeel and at 121proof it drinks like 100. :)

My wife and I met 20 years ago and we were married 18 years ago today, and so to mark the occasion, I am opening a bottle of Pappy 20,Elijah Craig 18, a bottle of Saz 18 and some Knob Creek Rye ((tthat last one, but only because it is a new bottle, and I can't wait to try it).

Congratulations!!! Very nice line-up. Will your bride be drinking the same as well?

Ancient Ancient Age 10 Year Old and then Ancient Age BIB, along with a few German pilsners. May go with the same line-up tonight.

A nice dram of ORVW 90, which is marching slowly towards the empty bottle graveyard. Hope I can pick up another this fall before I run out!

Generally I drink things neat, but because of the heat and as a change of pace I had a few fingers WT8 (bought at duty free) on the rocks. The WT handled the ice really well. For $22 a liter, it's a great whiskey. Too bad it's only available in an airport.

Long. Week.

Dropped off three of my four boys at school this morning. Hallelujah. Just a half-day, but the first day of school is always a celebration.

So...now that work is over I'm enjoying a nice pour of my supercharged SB blend (2 parts OWA, 2 parts W12, 1 part WLW).

WLW provides a great boost to WSR or a thin tasting bottle of OWA. I might have to give Doug's blend a try this week.

a little JW Dant BIB 2/31 last night. The OC character is decreasing, and it's getting better and better! Too bad it's only a 375.

A very generous pour of FR GS 16 year. The nose is still beautiful on this one and the flavor just reinforces the nose. An outstanding pour.

2007 Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. Better than I had remembered it to be. This bottle has been open ages but I'll finish it this week and move on to the 2008.

Being both busy and inclined to procrastinate / mess around with home work means that I need a decent cheap bourbon that I don't have to think about much.

That's right. Back to the EWB handle for some whiskey on the rocks.

12 4RSBLE - rich, floral, terrific finish. Have enjoyed the hell out of this bottle, maybe 2 pours left. Glad to have another in the bunker, would buy another if found in the wild.
