We don't want the word to get out too much on it.

Your secret is safe with me, B - this might be the one and only time geography and draconian shipping laws work in our favor ... :icon_pidu:

Sutton, Did you buy your OHH 8 year old in Rhode Island? I read somewhere that it is distributed in RI and my lovely home state of Minnesota only. It is a nice bourbon. I like it on the rocks, in Manhattans and in an Old Fashioned. In fact I am going to close this god-forsaken computer and go have a pull!

Yes I did Grain Belt - it's a short drive from here - most folks have easier access to other value HH bourbons (I'm thinking the BiBs) which generally I can't find around here. I also think the EW Black is pretty similar which is everywhere, so I wouldn't necessarily go chasing after it. I picked it up when visiting family over the line in RI.

It would be interesting to understand how HH decided on MN and RI for what appears to be a legacy bottling - I'd like to think they did it out of loyalty to long time bourbon drinkers in these states where it was popular and they have held onto it for them - but that is probably a naïve and romantic notion.

OFBB'13. Saw a lot of mentions of it tonight while browsing the forum and figured I should try mine while there are still some available on shelves around here. Nice, but I probably won't get another.

I went out with a third of the class today after our finals to celebrate. One of the students works at the bar, so they gave us good discounts. I was surprised to see Booker's on the shelf, so of course, you know what I ordered...I was happy to get it at $5 for a nice size pour, and happier yet when a friend in class, who got there before I did and was already well lit, told the barmaid to put it on his tab. Double score!

Whilst I enjoyed it, I think the Dickel 9/103 and the OGD114 that Ive been having a lot of lately give it a good run for the money. Best thing is, though, that I can keep multiples of all three here for less than the pappy whores pay for one of their items.

TPS selected WFE, Barrel 372, 11yrs 113.2proof. A lot going on here. This is a big whisky. Lots of flavor and pack a wallop. Dark fruits, sweetness, oak, spice and heat. Holds up well to some water, and brings out some more flavors, braised meat with cherries? Always an interesting pour.

Not bourbon but there's no equivalent thread in the appropriate forum - Mondays are Mellow Corn night for me. Always enjoy this stuff.

The BT private barrel again tonite...trying to get a handle on the wide spectrum in this bottle. Air is helping but still a little hot with cinnamon override beginning to take hold, vanilla growing from the background. These are by far my 2 fav tastes/flavors in bourbon...especially this time of year.

Before I put all 3 small kids to bed, I've had 2013 Old Rip, Larue 2013, standard 4R1B, and now I'm on WT 12yr Gold Foil. It's been a thirsty night.

Just poured the last of the Balcones Texas Single Malt Whisky I had........I think I'll add a couple of drops of Brimstone to try and mimic their new offering

Some late 80's Old Forester. Awesome nose, all vanilla and caramel up front on the entry then kind of dies off. Totally tasty though. Now onto a 50/50 SB blend with a splash of Ritt100-354.

Opened a FR Gift Shop OESK I picked up at Sampler, 11 years 11 months, 120.4 proof. Really enjoying it; the spiciness of the K yeast is prominent even in the lower rye mashbill.

One of my favorites that is under appreciated somewhat. Mike doesn't like the 99's as much as I do. So, I'm guessing it's older?

That's a good one. I've tried most years except for the 94's. Another SBer found some the other day. I need to see if I can get a sample. Personally, I've liked all of the ones I've had from 99 and back.
