Yeti
The local did a Black Friday Pappy raffle - first 50 people who spend $50 get entered. 2 winners can purchase 20 or lot B. I figured what the hell and got 2x Ritt 354 and an OWA. Didn't get picked in the raffle, so I'm having a Ritt manhattan to ease the non-existent pain. Wryguy
I got out of work slightly early tonight (8:30pm instead of 11:30pm) so I decided to head up to Sturbridge from Hartford. They didn't have any on the shelves. I asked the clerk, she said the computer shows bottles in stock, they are here somewhere. Gets one manager, he looks on the shelf then says he will have to check upstairs. The other manager walks by and the clerk asks him and he gives a "ohh right that...not sure there are any left up for grabs...I'd better go upstairs too." First guy comes down a few minutes later empty handed with a sheepish yeah-we-got-em-but-not-for-you shrug.
JKLS
Hmm, that's odd, they are so nice and helpful at that location. They had a few more bottles as of a week ago. I'm glad to have one in the bunker, but it's not mind-blowing, just solid, better with a few drops of water. I'll make sure to hook you up with a sample when I crack my bottle. I sure would be disappointed if they pulled shenanigans like that with you.

grantsi
Not quite bourbon...but snagged the full 2013 goose island bourbon county stout release. Great assortment of beers...now just need to debate whether to drink or cellar.
Renegator
Picked up a EWSB, Buffalo Trace and Jefferson's Chef's Collaboration. I'm interested to try the Jeffersons - I've had the other two before.
Yeti
Josh, so they did have it already? If so, crap, I didn't win either. Oh, well, I have two bottles of 7 year old Old Scout to ease the pain. I was under the impression they were doing it in the early afternoon yesterday. Losing was the most cost effective thing that happened all day
Colonel Duke
Had a successful morning: 2012 WLW 123.4, 2001 ER17 and ECBP 134.2.
theglobalguy
FR LESB '13, and some store picks of Eagle Rare and McKenna BIB. Some good variety at a whisky sale at Westport today in Louisville....hope they adjust the approach in the future. Letting 50+ people in at once was civil, but mostly grab/move/buy and gave no time to think about your purchase. it'd say within 5 min 100+ bottles of everything they had was gone. OscarV
I got lucky today and picked up a 2012 Parker's Heritage Collection.A real bargain by standards set from other distilleries at $89.99 for an 11yo at 139.4prf.Very tasty too, the ryed bourbon and the wheated bourbon vatted very good. Tony Santana
On my way to the office to do a little catch up this morning, and I drove by one of my haunts - it looked like it might be open, and sure enough the front door said they open at 9:00. I was the first one in there at about a minute after that, which I'm sure made me look like a real frickin' alcoholic. Certainly didn't need anything, but the owner sold me a bunch of VW products at roughly MSRP this year, so I like to keep my face recognizable and my patronage at "yeah, this guy is a good customer" levels. Asked him if he had anything new, and he was just pulling a couple bottles of Stagg, Jr. out of a box. Of course, I had just bought a bottle out of state a couple of weeks ago and schlepped it back in my luggage as I'd never seen it on the shelves around here. But what the hey, I grabbed another one since he seemed so pleased to have it in stock, and a Rowan's Creek to replace the one I polished off a month or so ago. Just increasing the bunker stock. Tony Santana
Increasing stock is always the prudent course. It's not likely to go bad, and it's not likely to get any cheaper. As long as one has the money and the storage space, what's the downside?

Hell of an expensive puddle if you ever have an earthquake Seriously though, i've just outgrown my built in shelves (they're not really the optimal height for most bottles anyways), so i figure i better add storage before product. r60slash5
Saturday Surprise PVW 15 , VWSR12, VWSR10, GTS, and 2 FRSbarrel. I had asked for FRSB 125th, but the clerk didn't know the difference. He did get and save me all the rest so I didn't say a word. I just paid the total and thanked him. The FR was $5.00 more then VWSR10Ted

Lee, Eagle Rare barrel #162 and a John J. Bowman from Westport. The latter was iffy because of the price and I am not as familiar with it. My son asked if I wanted him to pick it up. I thought why not? I also got a Larceny from Liquor Barn. Thanks for the heads up, G! I have never been to Westport but will put it on my must stop list when passing through Louisville. Still amazed how fast everything disappeared. It's a great stop for not just selection but a very knowledgable staff. Liquor Barn clearly stocks more of everything but can be a coin toss when you ask for help.

I was tempted to have him pick up one of the other barrels (#22). He can get that next time. He really liked the store. They were very helpful. He just handed them my list.
bingstein
Stepdad gave me a 1977 Seagrams VO while I was at home for the holiday. Started with the WT honey, then EW honey, and ended with the Seagrams. Foul shit, to say the least. I take it from your comment that all seagrams whiskey is similar in quality these days.... jeffrey r
In the "premium bourbon isn't getting cheaper or easier to find" category, I picked up a Wild Turkey Tradition for $100 that I had passed up many times. No surprise, it was the last one on the shelf. Also picked up two HW Rendezvous Ryes and a couple more ETL Barrel Select while I was at it.
