squire
He had a gathering of old buddies who met at a remote cabin on an island. They had a bonfire and dad pulled out the second bottle of OFS BIB to pass around the fire. The guys gushed over it and the bottle didn't last too long.Old guys who know their Bourbon tend to cut to the chase.

BFerguson
When I acquired this, I made promise to myself on when I would open it. Sadly that time came.I was gifted this a couple of years ago from my granduncle's bar, where it has been sitting for near forever. Friday, on a cold blustery afternoon, we laid him to rest south of Joliet, Il at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Even frozen as it was, the grounds are beautiful. I'm grateful for the lessons he taught me, and for the time I was able to have with him. He will forever be missed.BAppreciate everybody kind thoughts. As for tasting, it's quite unlike anything I've had, so making comparisons is tough. Faint nose, really have to sniff and dig your nose into the glass to get note from it. maybe a touch musty-cork rotting?, and leathery. Viscous-fill level was a touch low, I was worried about this, half expecting it to be passed it's prime, but is drinkable. Mellow as the day is long, bottle aging?, time has tempered all heat and bit from it. Completely soft and rounded in the mouth. Taste is tough. Leather, musty church or library, hint of cedar, gentle sweetness, lingers for a bit and fades away. Leaves you wanting more, as to me, it's a new direction in taste that I haven't been to before. Maybe it's the perception in my mind that it should taste old for being in the bottle for 65 years, but man, does it taste old. Completely unique and different. Maybe a bit past it's prime, but without comparison to other products of the era, its hard to stay. Either way, I'm going to savor every last drop, and hope that I can taste another version of it someday.B

Pudsky
Cracked open an E.H. Taylor Single Barrel BIB tonight. First time tasting this, wow I really love it, for sure more than the Blanton's. I've almost always got a bottle of Blanton's on hand. I'll have to make sure I have one of these now also. Not a bad predicament to be in I guess. petrel800
Really getting into this 12yr2mo OESV store selection. Happy I grabbed a few of these. It started off as a bit of a puzzler, but I think I've found its sweet spot. Just a little bit of water to open it up. Very tasty.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
