FR 1B OESK. Selected for the local Ruth's Chris franchisee. Curious to know if other Ruth's locations have done this too. Tasty pick at over 115 proof and 10 yrs old.

I'm surprised to see they have their own selection. How much was the bottle?

Finishing off the night with some SOAS10. Wishing I could find some of their older stuff.

Hmm...recently gifted a generous gift certificate to RC. There are 3 here, pretty much equidistant from me, think a call on what the bar is stocking may be in order.

started off with some HH 6 90 proof, but it felt a bit weak, so I then poured some WT101. that's doing it!

The past couple nights, SAOS 7 has been hitting all the sweet spots. Last night, prior to an excellent SAOS 7 pour, I had some Old Medely 12 that was just downright funky to the point I almost poured out the rest of the bottle. Tonight, that Old Medely 12 is downright pleasant......what the heck? Figures, because there is less than 1 pour left. The palate can sure be a fickle mistress with some bourbons, whereas others are always good.

Didn't ask if they were for sale and doubt if they were. $12 for a 2oz (freehand) neat pour. Not bad at all especially considering the scale of pricing for the rest of the menu. Steak didn't suck either-sizzle,sizzle,sizzle:grin:

Last pour of some ND OT 6yr. Hate to see the bottle go, but it served its purpose. Delicious!

Traveling for work. Had dinner with co-workers from several divisions of our company. Enjoyed a couple pours of Angel's Envy and a pour of Bookers. Now hitting a little EWSB 03 as a night cap.

EWSB04, the longer this bottle is open the better it gets and at this rate it won't be open much longer.

The JBW bourbon of the month thread inspired me to have a bit of JBB (I'm not going to buy any JBW any time soon). Not one I go to often, but a solid pour.

Willett 9yr 129.6 selected by Pacific Edge. This is a fine pour and opens up wonderfully with a few drops of water!

WTRB the 108p version. A fantastic pour that I really really like. Opening briefly sweet with some citrus then onto the big spice bomb, spice not heat like the razor blade assault of a too young bourbon. Peppery with baking spices that lands on the tongue and digs in for a good long ride eventually yielding to some black licorice and oak. I LOVE bourbons that are multi-layered and tell their story over time and in waves. Thats what I love about so many 4R expressions and while I rarely stray from the house of 4R, when I do its a short trip down the road to visit with the Russells.

I really hope the new 112 version is as good or better because I got very worried when I learned of RB changing. I missed out on the era of WT that so many here on SB rave about, better late than never as I am a big fan of both the current 101 and RB. I also hope once the distillate from the new distillery starts hitting shelves it is not a move in the wrong direction. According to the WT tour of last summer everything currently in bottles is from the old distillery as the new stuff is still too young for sale so I choose to be optimistic and hope for the best.

Anyway great night for the RB, really hit the spot!!

wanting to clean out some low bottles, so I'll be working the HH 6 90 and the WT101 over over the next few days. I dont have enough WT101 or Booker's for the graduation party, so I'll have to restock soon! We're gonna do a blind tasting, and I requested only 100+ proofers for it. Im planning on my favorites from my 4 regular distilleries......WT101, HH6BIB, Booker's, and Dickel 9

plus, i have some coupons/rebates on the WT that expire in a few weeks, and it would be wrong to waste them, right?

I was finally able to crack open my ECBP...wow...what a whiskey. I really enjoyed it. I tired a couple of pours neat and the heat didn't really affect me. Had two small pours over a big cube and it was fantastic....stout but not overpowering, tasty...beautiful aroma and color. This is great!

Russels Reserve SmBSB this evening. This was suggested to me because I like WT101. This is my second pour of this one and I clearly taste the family resemblance. At 110 proof, I'm still getting a handle on how much water to add. Unadulterated, it comes off with too much heat and barrel char. I think I'll eventually work into really liking this one. Jury is out if it's worth the upcharge over 101.
