Dang, I guess I am keeping it on the down-low tonight. Started the night with a big pour of Old Ezra 7 yr 101, then a glass of Old Heaven Hill 8 yr, then more of the Old Ezra 7yr 101. I am almost halfway through the Ezra101, and I really like this bottle. I may have to pick up a few more to have on hand.

Some CEHT BP with ND Bourbon de Luxe (50:50). Maybe because it is Friday night, but this mingle is just amazing to me right now. The creamy butterscotch from the ND seems to be accentuated rather than lost, with a rich mouthfeel and a finish that lingers quite satisfyingly. Dumping the rest of my CEHT BP into a mingling bottle with equal parts BDL. Damn tasty pour! Wish I had figured this one out earlier!

Along the same lines of this, but CEHT BP (135.4 proof) and '83 OGD BIB (50:50) for very drinkable 117.7 proofer.

Enjoyed more EWSB 04 store select again last night. I need to go get a few more bottles because this hits the right taste for me.

Also, I was looking for reasonable priced small bottles for samples / leftovers / vatting, found some 8 ounce jelly jars I'll try.

Nice pour of WLW, as I raise a glass in honor of the old man! Cheers Dad! :toast:

I'm gonna let father's day go out with a bang during Game of Thrones tonight. Probably 4RSB, KC, EC12, OWA.

I finally got a round to opening my Willett 23y from Liquor Barn, and I have to say this is a great bourbon. So smooth and silky, great Full body. Loaded with flavor. Glad I was able to get one.

Winding up Friday afternoon with some SB Blend. Best pour I have under $25 - delicious!

Sipping on some WSR 7yr that I found yesterday, and have been having a hard time leaving alone.

And for a moment there I thought I didn't like wheaters!

Hey, if Gary says it's Friday, then we have two more days off! I am down with it!

Wanted something special tonight and wanted to empty a bottle at the same time. Finishing off a bottle of Four Roses OESK. Adding a touch of water to bring the proof down into the 105 to 110 range and to open up the flavor.

Mrs Fox and I joined some friends at their lake house for the weekend and I took along my new WTRB bottle. Everyone loved it, surprisingly even the guy who likes regulat ol ET as his regular drink. But, with him drinking it like he does his normal ET, he crashed early and was snoring away on the couch. cruising around a lake on a pontoon boat with friends and this bottle was quite relaxing. It took me several pours to really get into this, but I have to say its gonna be a regular, especially at $32

Fox - good to see you enjoying the fine flavors of WTRB, also one of my favorites.

I'm going with Parker's PoH again tonight. Just really, really digging this one.

Opened my Bernheim Wheat Whiskey. Soft, subtle, and one you have to pay attention to. Unlike many bourbons whos flavors hit you in the face. Not a regular pour, but tasty.

while at that lakehouse with friends....my friend doesnt use charcoal lighter for his charcoal, he starts it with newspaper. I was having no luck with that, so I figured out a good use for his bottle of Crown Royal! who knew!

Didn't think Crown had enough abv to get that type of job done...

Finished off a bottle of FR 125 tonight. Sad to see it go but it was good while it lasted.

it burned slowly, but was good enough to get the charcoal going.

Having a pour of JPS18 Batch17 tonight. I like this very much! I might like this batch better than 16.

Celebrated NBD with WTRB, Old Blowhard and a store pick AE cask strength. The OB and AE were sampled at The Southern in Nashville. I really enjoyed the AE, but the RB was the lead horse all night, striking the perfect flavor balance one expects from a traditional bourbon.

I was glad to try the Old Blow, but it also affirmed my earlier decision not to purchase a bottle. Don't get me wrong...I don't think it's bad or overpriced for what it is but, it's just to dry oak forward for my preference (with a lingering musty stale finish IMO).

Like many others here, I find that I for the most part prefer 6 to 12 year old bourbon that has less barrel influence imparted on it than the Old Blow did. Lastly, I highly recommend The Southern for fine food and drink. They have a knowledgeable staff, fantastic menu and very well stocked bar. It was the highlight dining experience of the weekend.
