Would you rather see it on the self FOR a price or on the shelf not for sale? Or in the mngr's drawer not for sale, but still there because every other customer that's "now into bourbon" is infected with the ideal that it's the next Pappy and they keep coming in, over and over, just asking for it and not buying anything else?

Beanie Babies. Collect them all!

saw lots of new WFE 2 year rye for $35ish. Not interested enough to try it.

Not exactly bourbon but passed on a Willett cask strength rye rare release. It was 105 proof. Has anyone had this? I may go back tomorrow to pick up a bottle.

How many years old? That's important.

105 proof isn't one of the 2 known 2yr batches so I'm betting this is something different.

5 is next to 8 on the number keypad, so Im figuring he just accidentally hit the wrong key

They must have a lot of this 2 year ready to go...it seems to be everywhere (on the internet, at least...still doesn't distribute to Michigan...).

I'm content with my one $35 bottle though. I don't think it was good enough for the price to bump Rittenhouse or Sazerac out as my go to rye pours. I am eagerly awaiting the future releases as it continues to age...however am dreading where the price will go...

Passed on a store-selected WTKS @ $35. Great price, but I haven't read too many great things about recent bottles of this. I may grab one anyway, though.

Did any of you Indy-area SBers help select this one?

120,000 bottles according to everyone's favorite Bourbon Truth blogger.

We have none in the Mpls/St Paul market that I know of. Even the stores that have bought Willett barrels in the past don't have it (for sale to the public).

Oh, and also passed up ETL regular for 115.99

Gee, guess that makes mine worth a lot to somebody else. To me, it's worth what I paid for it; I NEVER resell - just naturally selfish I guess.

Made a quick stop at my local store last night on the way home from a corn boil. I saw something I haven't seen there before. There was a whole row of OC 8 year. I passed just because. I've spotted a few odd things here and there recently in a couple of stores. I can't help but wonder if maybe our local distributor made a sweep of their warehouse, and might be "purging" some things from their inventory that may have been lost or lingering. :skep:

Yeah. That's what I was thinking. That's kinda why it was a surprise to see it. Around here it seems that two or three times a year some odd or different stuff just happens to magically appear. :skep:

I've seen the same thing happen around here too. I have stumbled upon paper label Old Forester 86, and WSR 7 year. They appeared like magic in a store that hasn't been open very long.

Cody Road bourbon and rye. Well there were several more new "craft" labels that I haven't seen before. I mean it's only been a little over two weeks since I've been in this store and the "craft" labels are multiplying like rabbits.

I just don't see the end in sight and I'm guessing the store mark up must exceed that of the good stuff.

I have a bottle of Barterhouse that I paid $75 for but I keep passing it up now at $70 and bottles of Rhetoric at $85 right next to it. It's tough to justify when I can get 3 bottles of FRSB for the same money

Maybe in other states but the allocation in Ky was minuscule (unless you are at the gift shop).

It was on caskers.com which is usually a good benchmark for how widely distributed it is.
