Flyfish
I think Kirkland's is a decent value at about $20 a liter. Went to Costco in Spokane, WA thinking I would get a bottle only to find that it was $28.99. PLUS $9 and change in tax. Approaching $40, it didn't seem like such a value pour. My heart bleeds for SBers in Washington.
P&MLiquorsEric
It was on caskers.com which is usually a good benchmark for how widely distributed it is.Another round landed in ky this week. We have it coming tomorrow.

amg
I'd probably be willing to pay that much for it occasionally.
BootsOnTheGround
$58 plus ship for a Barterhouse made me stop and think but I let'r go. Left a Liter OF 86 prf with the old diamond label for like $17. Might have to go back. Have left many a Booker's RT batch for $35. They kinda give it away up here. Same with OWA 107 and EC12 under $20 all the time. Meh....
Richnimrod
Passed on an overpriced, small-barrel-aged offering from Journeyman Distillery on the West side of the Mitten State. (Three Oaks, MI?)Featherstone Bourbon... This crafter is way too proud of what has been reviewed by some as a bit below methanol (my words) by several folx who have tried it. I did obtain a small taste of the same crafter's 4-grain whiskey (25% each of barley, wheat, rye & corn) also small-barrel-aged, ostensibly for 18-months. That sample, while not good enough to make me pull out the wallet, was a cut above several I've tried in the same vein. 90-proof, and relatively well-crafted. Not harsh, as some of these things are. Also, not long on flavor. I'd describe it as somewhere between a weak blended scotch and a mediocre Canadian blended whiskey. Some of the rye was evident, and a bit of the barley. I don't recall the name of this stuff, though it seems to me it may have been something like 'Silver Cross'?

Quintilian
Thought about grabbing a BT, Rebel Reserve, or Weller Special Reserve but purchased a bottle of Pure Kentucky because I've never had it before.
BootsOnTheGround
many people here will want to bitchslap you after reading all that, boots....I realize that. Not trying to gloat, just kinda snarking at how the market varies around the US. I also want to bitchslap TX for stealing all the W12 and WTAS as well as the guys out in LA that buy dusty OF and OGD like loaves of Wonderbread. fishnbowljoe
I stopped to pick up pizza on my way home this afternoon. I had a few minutes to kill, so I walked over to the liquor store next door. FWIW, this store is not very far from where I live, and I haven't stopped in there for a while. I passed on everything. Most notable was Blanton's for $65, EC 12 for $45, and BT for $32. :frown:
