My understanding is that the entire allocation here went to bars.

That makes sense. So, California gets a truck load for retail and we get none. I guess it is up to the distributor. :frown:

Right there with you Johnny. 30-$35 i'd give it a whirl although trusted pallets have not been impressed. I'd like to teach the blind against OWA Just to see where the chips fall

My guess is you will be able to tell. They are different.

Did a side by side tonight of MMCS and OWA 107 because of this thread. Definitely different. I think that MMCS is 'better' to my palate although that's certainly subjective. Is it 4x as good as price would indicate? Not so sure about that. Both good whiskeys, without a doubt.

I can take or leave. Standard MM, and find M46 only marginally better, but I've really enjoyed the MMCS. if it was under $40 for a 750, it would join EC12 and OGD114 in my "standard pours", replacing the now hard-to-find ETL.

I have MMCS and Weller 12. When things calm down after holidays, I plan on vatting them to create a variant of the the SB Blend.

Gave a bottle of MMCS to my plumber who came over on a Saturday and it was his birthday. Nice guy deserves nice bourbon.

I just picked up my second bottle this weekend, even though I think it's overpriced. I don't really like the regular Maker's, but this is much better and "richer" flavored and textured to me. If it were around the same price as Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, Booker's and Stagg Jr., and bottled at 750 ml, I would add it to the regular rotation.

As for comparisons with OWA 107, it is now much much easier to find Maker's cask strength than OWA 107. BT needs to get their supply straightened out on OWA or I suspect people will stop looking. If I need to call in favors with stores to get a bottle, it's not worth it.

This just landed in Australia (single retail store, probably getting someone in the US to ship a carton or two) for $90 a bottle.

Holy Moly! That is some markup- tho I guess if you had to ship it or hand carry it there it would cost a little extra.

Is that 90 Australian dollars? What size bottle? In the US, it is typically US$35-40 per 375ml. It's good, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even try it at US$90 per 375ml.

It's about $72 US at the current exchange rate.... and yes, it's for the same 375ml bottle that you guys get over there.

That's pretty steep. Will anybody ship there? And here I was thinking we get bad deals on Scotch compared to UK prices.

It wouldn't work out much cheaper for someone to ship a bottle here. Cost of shipping is fairly high, and our taxes get added on at this end.

I'm having my first taste of this, and it's really nice. Much richer than standard Makers.

I strongly prefer this over current OWA. I'm not going to stockpile this at $35/375 but I'm glad that I got a couple.

I wanted to mention - if it hasn't been already - that in PA's board agenda for March 11th, they noted that they will be adding Maker's Mark Cask Strength in 750ml to the shelves. Not sure when that will happen - could be a few weeks, could be a few months, who knows - but it is expected to be priced around $59.99.

Thought you guys might find that interesting.

Hmm. Still sounds about at least $10 too much. I was hoping for 50 or less, to be honest.

The Ohio liquor site lists a 750ml bottle for around $60 depending on county. Hoping this becomes a fairly regular sight

Are they selling the 750 at the MM gift shop, or just the 375?

Wondering this myself as the better half and I will be heading to KY to see relatives at Easter and we might be able to make a stop at the MM giftshop

15%2B-%2B1

A interesting discovery at lunch today. I heard that MM was going to begin producing their CS in 750ml bottles, but hadn't seen one in person or on the Internet. Maybe I missed? Bottle says it's batch 15-2.

Greatgoo, mind sharing the price on that? I am a huge fan of the MMCS and a 750ml size is awesome.
