When does this hit California?

Last year In NorCal, Bevmo got it around the last week of Oct/first week of Nov. Most other shops got it in about a week later

Just got an email from Bevmo about this year's btac. I replied with requests for whatever I could grab. My reply was sent about 30 mins after the email came in. Will be interesting to see whether I get any. I'm thinking I was too late.

I've been seeing rumors of this hitting SoCal in the last day or two. Bourbonr just posted it on his release map and a member of another forum stated he spotted it yesterday.

It hit Total Wine today all over Southern California. Most stores were sold out by 11:00. I missed mine by 30 minutes.

I too received an email and replied almost immediately, but, I am sure, so did most people.

The email says we will have our reply within 48 hours, so the wait will not be that long.

SoCal member here, got a WLW and GTS today. Super allocated. My retailer, from whom I got one of each BTAC w/ two WLWs last year, got exactly three bottles of WLW this year.

I'm looking forward to a few years from now when everyone's gotten bored with bourbon, the distillers catch up, and there's oversupply once again.

That's awesome! Most of the places I frequent are claiming it hasn't arrived yet. Don't think they're all lying about it, but who knows? Could it be that distribution has hit certain stores in the area, but not others yet? If so, any idea when they'll got their allotments?

They may get delivery later in the week (thurs or fri).

If that was in KY. It was a steal. Prices went up on all BTAC in KY about 8 bucks a bottle this year on the wholesale level.

Went to some of the notable places in NKY, and they said it came and went yesterday. One place plans to put it in their lottery.

Got the BevMo email offering the chance to get one BTAC bottle. WLW wasn't even an option. :hot: I can't imagine they got no bottles but who knows with the crazy allocations these days. Looks like another year of no WLW for this guy. :rolleyes:

Spoke to the guy who does the receiving in one of my local BevMo stores this morning. FWIW he says that this year BevMo is distributing all the BTAC bottles through the lottery system; none will go to stores. He said he understood this system was adopted due to problems with "resellers".

Again, just one guy in one store, so take it for what it is worth.

Spoke with someone at my local BevMo and got the same answer. Real shame. Still hoping my reply got in in time to snag a bottle.

Anecdotally, it's hitting states a lot earlier this year, including ones that in the past didn't get it til quite late. I'd still remain vigilant.

I just got the call today from my local ABC store in Durham - 20 bottles came in - Saz18, ER17, GTS, TH, and PHC. I went with the 2014 GTS - my first real 'find.' Got it for $80, opened it as soon as I got home. If this is what I can expect from GTS, I'd buy a bottle every time I have the chance :)
