Happy to finally get my hands on some RHF. Made a quick little drive for them but I don't regret it.

Flying back to the midwest for the holidays so I wanted to grab a few new things to have when I got back. Was hoping to find something in Portland but time only allowed a stop at total wine in vancouver.

Was hoping for HHBIB6 but no dice so I picked up an OBSQ, the Seattle craft brew festival 2014 bottling. Could find no information about it and they didn't have a bottle open so I had to gamble on it. I also have a same age OESQ open that's really nice so that will be an interesting side-by-side.

I recently tried it at whisky bar the recently opened here. Honestly, it was love at first taste. Been on the hunt every since.

Grabbed 2x 4R Single Barrels to get them in the door before the price increases next year. Also found the new OF 1870.

I thought the 8yr was standard overseas? Are they getting rid of age statement in asia as well?? I know they just got rid of the 12 year 101, replaced with a 13 year 91.

Snake eyes on the 8YO WT. What was delivered was the standard 101. I'm going to open one and see how I like it (it has been many years since I have tasted the standard). I might send the rest back (5 bottles). Sad to see 8YO off the market here, the importer switched to 101, must be for cost reasons.

I should be heading to Japan in a month or so, I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.

The '13 OBSQ's are my favorite barrel proofer's from 4R, and apparently JR's as well (have heard it from several sources). I hope that's what you have in hand, and I hope you enjoy.

I decided to keep 3 WT 101 and send back 3. It pretty good stuff but pales in comparison to the 8YO or the older Turkey. In fact, it reminded me very much of VOB for some reason. Surprisingly smooth and easy to drink. Or maybe I am becoming a proof monster ?!?

Haven't purchased it yet but did confirm I can pick up 2 "handles" of Weller 12 tomorrow!

Well they weren't Unicorns I picked them up today and they're making the ride to KY with us as we head home for Christmas with the families.

I'll open one while we're there.

You are still buying 6-year age-stated VOB? I guess you are finding the old AS version still on the shelves, rather than the one that has a "6" on the neck but no age statement.

Well, I guess that is another plus for living in Texas, beyond the obvious one which is having W12 on the shelf all the time when the rest of the country either gets none at all or only gets it once in a while.

Yes, I am still getting it. However my store is definitely running out. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that buys it. I don't believe they are putting anymore out though so I may just go buy the last of it. They stock it on the bottom all the way in the corner. Very hard to see and NAS VOB was blocking it it today. Didn't see much W12 today though.

Picked up a Baby Saz for $25 this evening.

Virginia didn't get any Baby Saz this year. Well atleast I will say central Va didn't get any. Very disappointed about that.

We have plenty of Baby Saz in NJ. Weller 12, however, was never in NJ, and now seems to have disappeared from NY where it was sparsely available. Thankfully I stocked up on W12 when I had the chance, but still should have bought more.

On topic, stopped in Total Wine tonight to pick up some WT101 (which I did), and couldn't pass up another OGD 114 (bottom shelf swill that it is...) at $22, even though I have a few in the bunker already.
