Mission: Incomplete as I see no WLW!

Seriously though that is impressive.

Private Barrel KCSB at 120 proof out of curiosity b/c I like the high ABV. Cracked it open and it was hot and a bit unbalanced. A few drops of water fixed everything and now it's fairly enjoyable. Probably won't be buying another bottle though.

Wow very good haul. Has this hit shelves?

No, this was from someone's bunker as part of a trade. I personally have never seen any W12 on the shelf, ever.

W12 started hitting KC again today after a few months of nothing. Snagged a couple 750s and 1.75 all for the bunker.

Christmas present to myself. Was in Bardstown today and picked up an 11 yr William Heavenhill at the Heritage Center.

Petite Cellars SAOS 8yr barrel proof as a going away present for a fellow bourbon enthusiast and coworker. This is an absolute gem of a barrel pick, and I'm glad they still have plenty on the shelves.

Was craving a bargain pour today and knew I'd be in a town with much better selections. I was thinking either JW Dant BIB or JTS Brown since they are the cheapest bonds available in oregon and I love gold label. Went JTS instead of JW because you can only get handles of JW.

First pour out of the bottle ... pretty good. In between gold and EWW perhaps.

Very thankful for the super kind SB member who helped me secure this one.

Not sure why it's sideways.......rest assured it's being stored upright in my cabinet.

Man, if I knew that when I stopped there, I would of picked that up! I hope it is on the shelf next time I go down. :)

It develops an aspartame flavor if you add ice or cold water as another friend found out (guessing that's a product of industrial scale distillation), but is delicious neat or with some water. MGPs 36% rye recipe can create some nice bourbons, depending on how they age.

I have been really busy lately so this is a summary that goes back to Black Friday. I'm not sure I'd want to read a log like this of all my purchases this year...

Black Friday Pappy Frenzy (Rockford, IL) - Was able to get the last bottle of ORVW10/107 for a reasonable price; also purchased WT Forgiven (I enjoy it), Rittenhouse Rye, and a Larceny to keep at my parents' house for when I visit. Not bourbon, but I also snagged the 2014 release of Goose Island Bourbon County.

Pappy Lottery Bonanza (Peoria, IL) - I did not win the chance to buy any Pappy but Phil Prichard was there for a tasting and signing bottles, so I asked him to sign a bottle of Double Barreled Bourbon for my future father-in-law. A couple gifts for other people too (SAOS 7yr and RR1792), nothing for me.

Trip to Binny's (Bloomington, IL) - FRSB PS OESQ, Bernheim Wheat (on sale), Michter's Toasted Barrel (I was curious), and Binny's selection of ER10.

Miscellaneous - RR SmB SB, another HWMND (can't remember what Act), CEHT SmB, and Johnny Drum Private Stock.

Now I think I can slow down for a while since I'm not hunting for Fall releases anymore. I am going to TN after Christmas though...
