You sound like a Malty McMuffin... =]b
Whether I agree or disagree with him, he's extremely entertaining.

Balvenie triple cask 16 year from heathrow...they also threw in a glenfiddich cask collection sample set ( 3 5cl bottles ) for free which will be a great stocking stuffer for someone ( the Balvenie is definitely for me )

Was hoping to track down some of the new Longrow Red Port finished but no luck. Settled for a Longrow 14yo Burgundy finish and an earlier Longrow Red finished in Cabernet as consolation prizes.

Both require assistance for me to get any and I have already overworked my contacts this year! Had friends going to Cincy for the holidays so was hoping Party Source might have it but apparently so far no joy.

I'm in the same boat - many online retailers will not ship to my state. Losing TPS & ShoppersVinyard really hurt.

There are still a few willing to ship to MD. Otherwise I have willing mules in VA and DC.

Got a package from Santa - Nikka Whisky Straight from the Barrel 51.4%. Had a sample of this last year in the advent calendar and it was great, looking forward to cracking this on Christmas.

Insanity. I can't even imagine paying that much and actually drinking $1000+ pours. I can guarantee that bottle isn't 1000% or even 500% better tasting than something that's regularly available on the shelf.

I say let's be thankful people collect this kind of stuff and leave the majority of whiskies that we all actually drink on the shelves. Frankly, I'm lucky a bunch of European lurkers don't fly over here and clean the state of Maryland out. If they could get it back home, they would make a killing selling all the stuff I leave on the shelves because I know it's not going anywhere.

Contrast that with the current bourbon situation here, which is pretty grim.

Don't be so sure... A few of them cleaned out Houston of some Brora earlier this year.

Haha, that had to have been a sight. I'll keep that in mind when I post about things that I pass up.

Not a purchase, but my daughter brought back a Yellow Spot Irish whiskey from her trip to the isle recently and it was her Christmas gift to me. Can't wait to give it a try.

That is an extraordinarily generous Christmas present!

Merry Christmas to all the SBers holding down the Foreign Whisky subforum!

Not to mention it can be hard to find, even in the Old Country!
