Sounds awesome flahute!

Finishing off a bottle of EWSiB 2003. A fine bottle it was too!

Yes!! I have one of these now thanks to a friend who sent me a couple. It's really good and definitely a different profile than what I'm used to. Do you find it different?

I'm currently working on the Johnny Drum that I'm trying to kill. Then to the Noah's Mill that I'm also trying to kill. The J. Drum just isn't that great, but it's not bad enough to pour down the drain either. NM is getting better but it took getting more than half way through the bottle before it started tasting good. I won't be repeating these purchases (that's what I said last time too.......) unless I hear a particular batch is exceptional.

Noah's Mill has always been one of my favorite bourbons; but last year I had a batch (#15-80) that was just not up to par...

HMcK10. It has been a while.  Some times it is hit or miss.  This bottle is a hit.

Inadvertently ended up in the midst of an "old bourbon" night. Started with the WTMK 17yr that I purchased today. I was impressed and found it to be full flavored in spite of the relatively low proof. Decided to keep it in the family and followed with WT Diamond. I have to say it tasted as good as I remember. (Maybe it's the Glencairn. I've been using Canadian Glencairns mostly for the past year or so and switched it up to the standard Glencairn which perhaps does a better job of focusing the nose on a lower proof bourbon.)

After that, where to go? Decided to stay in the age range with EC18. Again it tasted as good as I remember. Maybe it's the Glencairn, maybe it's an exceptional palate night. Followed with ER17. Now I'm out of bourbons in this age range so I'm capping the night with 4RSiB. It holds its own.

This morning, a nice pour of aged stated OWA from 07.  Wish I had more of this.

Tonight I cracked open a gifted bottle of NAS Blade & Bow.

Admittedly I wanted to dislike it, but as juice goes it's not bad. Not one I'd pay for again, but not one to clean the drains with either..

RHF with GoT last nite - forgot how great this stuff was.  No more delayed gratification from this bottle since I now have two (2) more in the bunker!    :D

WT 101 was my Game of Thrones pour last night.  It really hit the spot.  As did the episode.

Bonded Beam on a few cubes while out back listening to the Braves on the radio.  Pairing nicely with the beautiful bouquet of the wild Chinese Privet blooms in the air.

I didn't have the presence of mind to post about it, but my dad and I had a pour of WT101 last night because we found out a friend of ours died :(

trying to finish off some bottles so finished off WTRB and got 2 pours left in 4RSmB bottle.  This 4R SmB bottle hasn't been a favorite, so I'll be glad to be finishing it off, but first world probs.

Pete if I'd have known earlier I would've bought a bottle of the same.

Must have been a Wild Turkey night as I started with a nice pour of Masters Keep. After that was finished, I figured I end the night with some HH6BIB. Can't go wrong with either one.

SAOS7 for now.  Trying to decide on #2.

Me too! From a freshly cracked bottle. It has a bit of a glue thing going on the nose, but I suspect that will subside. Haven't had one of these open in a long time. I forgot how much I liked it. I definitely prefer this (the high rye recipe) to the 10yr (the low rye recipe). I just wish it wasn't so danged expensive these days. That's going to curtail future purchases. (The bottle I just cracked was purchased some time ago.)

I also tend to prefer the 7 over the regular SAOS10, but the 9 and 10yo SB's I've had are pretty incredible.  They do seem to have gone up slightly, although the last couple bottles I bought in Chapel Hill were $36 each, which is about as good as I've seen it.

I think the 9 and 10 year old Single Barrels are also the high rye mashbill. I believe only the standard 10yr at 99 proof is the low rye. (Could be wrong though).

The standard 7yr is in short supply around here, and when seen is in the $50's now. Just can't do it at that price. This current bottle will be my last unless I find it for much less online.

50$ for a SAOS 7 yo, ouch, in Europe, that's what you have to pay for the 10 yo. It's a great bourbon, i like it. It reminds me, i need to score a bottle soon, mine is almost empty.

Tonight, i'm gonna try for the first time a pour of OGD 114. Finally, people talk a lot about it and seem to like it.
