That PH 27y was a great bottle of bourbon, I have one more in the bunker, and I know when I open it, it's not going to last long.

Started the the night with Bookers 25 Anv. (very good), then on to a store select KC 120p from Spec's in Houston, that was very good.

Now having some EHT BP, I think I'm done with EHT BP. I have enjoyed them but most of the batches are just to HOT. I have to ice them down to a standard BT (which is good juice) but I'll just buy BT. I think I'll take the money I would spend on EHT BP and buy Stagg Jr. :) Problem solved

Next, I think I'll have some Stagg Jr. to test my  theory.

Enjoying some ECBP tonight. Great day with plenty of sunshine.

Let me know when you open the PHC27 Lloyd. That's some old bourbon.

Will do. ^^^

Had a thought as I poured me a glass of Stagg Jr, wouldn't this make a great store select barrel program. (I'm sure most of you know what barrel program the hang tag came from).  I like to hang it around other bottles, l like the way it sounds when it hits the glass.

Wheateds - 2 OZ. MM CS with a BIG ice cube.  Followed it with  2 OZ. of Larceny with a small ice cube.

WOW! Thanks for the tip. Will try next weekend.

This weekend: replacing PTO on my small John Deere.

EW BiB at the moment. Got a half-bottle of EHTSB to sip on later, probably with a pipe of  G.L. Pease's The Virginia Cream tobacco.

No, I am not a hipster. :)

Having some of this now, W.L. Weller Old Weller Antique.

Mixed together?   ...OR, one following the other?    Either way, can't go wrong.

Personally, I've never mixed the two; but have followed WSR from time to time with OWA.

And have done a triple just once with the WSR, then, OWA followed by WLW.   THAT was nice!

Started out with a Manhattan to enjoy the waning of the day on the deck - made with Queen Jennie, a local craft sorghum whiskey.  A bit sweet, but works okay in a cocktail.  Then switched to Masters Keep; I find it to be an elegant pour.  Not too oaky for its age.  Now working on a SAOS 8 year store selection.  A nice caramel bomb.

At a buddy's house last night. I started out on scotch but later moved on to Michter's 10 and Woodford Sweet Corn before finishing the night with a little Blanton's.

I've been in bourbon deficient Italy for the past week subsisting primarily on negronis and prosecco. (They have prosecco with every meal, even breakfast.)

On the flight home, the only American whiskey choice was basic JD. I did it. After a week off, it was so good to actually taste something barrel aged.

Negronis and prosecco aren't a bad way to live...

My wife's cousin is visiting, and has some limited experience with whiskey - primarily Scotch and Japanese - but not much with bourbon.  Pulled out the BT, FRSmB, Bookers, and HHSS#2.  I think he liked the Bookers the best of that bunch.  Then since he has done some Scotch tasting before, broke out the 2015 CB Flaming Heart and Not a Luxury - purely as a discussion topic that the word "blend" shouldn't be interpreted as "low quality".  Lot of fun for a Sunday night!

My first KC store select last night. Good, not great. I'm sure it's a question of finding a store picker whose priorities match mine. Anyway, won't be a hard bottle to get through!

HMcKBiB was my Game of Thrones pour last night.  This bottle is not lasting long and I'm down to the last 1/4.

Priming the pump for Bardstown Sampler later this week with a pour  of my current favorite pour, Baker's.  Looks like really good crowd coming.  Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Gazebo!

I went with Baker's as the Game of Thrones pour last evening.  As Joe noted above, right in the old wheelhouse it is!

I've been taking my bro in law on a bourbon journey through this Blackhawks come back from a 3-1 deficit.  Too bad they couldn't finish off the series last night.  We started with RR10SB, which we thought tasted good, but finished poorly.  Then went to WTRB, which surprisingly, was not amazing.  Then decided to go wheaters with Larceny, which again was not good, seemed pretty thin, and then went to W12, which was actually pretty amazing last night.

I went with Blanton's last night and followed it up with RHF this evening.  Both pours out of the mid-bottle range and quite good.

I've now moved to Baker's as the hockey pour tonight, as the Preds/Ducks are ready to drop the puck on game 7.
