Ran an errand that conveniently took me right by one of my favorite stores. I picked up a 4RSmB and an EC NAS. I must be approaching bourbon zen because I was actually pretty happy to pick these up. Not because they are hard to find but because they are really good whiskey that's readily available and I can think to myself "I really want a 4RSmB and an EC" and I can show up and buy one with no hassle or hustle required.

On vacation with the family and spending the first night in Denver before staying the rest of the week in Estes Park. After a 12 hour drive today I thought I should pick up a good bottle to enjoy over the next few days. Was hoping for a bottle of Leopold Brothers since I can't get that around mid Missouri, but settled for a fifth of CEHT SmB... Guess I don't have much to complain about if that's "settling"!

So much for settling... Stopped at Hazel's Beverage World in Boulder on our way to Estes Park and picked up a bottle of Leopold Bros. Maryland Style Rye!

KC 2001.  I really wanted a bottle of this as I am a big KC fan.  My bottle is batch 2, and was bottled in 2016, so I guess that makes it 15 years old?

If there is no age statement indicating it's 15 years old,  (something the company would definitely want to brag about), then it's impossible to know how long it was aged.  Just because it was distilled in 2001 doesn't mean it was barreled in 2001.  It could very well have been tanked in storage for a few years before barreling.

Picked up a bottle of Belle Meade as it was on sale at the local ABC. Have not tried this one yet, but couldn't pass it up this time.

They've said "over 14".  That leads me to believe that it didn't quite make it to it's 15th birthday (or since it's batched it's likely a blend of 14 and 15 year old).

EC Barrel Proof.  Still unsure of the year, but a liquor store person was looking out for me when I asked and I got one.

How do you like that batch?  Very curious of your impressions.  Thought about opening a bottle of that, but am already at my max for a work night...the new Knob Creek 2001 was really hitting the spot, and also opened a bottle of Springbank Local Barley 16 year.

I love it.  Think it is my 2nd? bottle/batch I have tried.  I tend to to savor them and have no more than 1 or 2 pours here and there and push it to the back of the opens.  Very hot though so a cube of ice doesn't hurt it like I am having right now.  The other I have bunkered is 67.8 % I believe.

Yes, I really do savor them, as they are so hard to find.  I bet a big ice cube would be a good addition.  May have to open one later this week.  Cheers!

Went out to Utah to grab a bottle of High West Yippee Ki-Yay and stumbled upon an E.H. Taylor Barrel Proof as an extra bonus!

Not in NC, they are too highly allocated here.

Not sure if it's true, but I was told there will be no ETL in NC this year.  According to this ABC the state didn't buy enough of some other non bourbon product and the distributor cut off ETL.  Who knows if it's true, but I haven't seen a bottle this year.

I do believe so, I'm 90% sure because I remember thinking the proof was low when I bought it and the 2016 is 127.5. I'll double check when I get home, if I don't reply again than it will be confirmation.

Just picked up my first bottle of Rock Hill Farms.  $51.99 seemed a little high but not unreasonable.

That's a fair price.  Consider yourself fortunate to find it.

Let us know what you think about it when you try it.

I was traveling with my wife for an extended weekend to visit family in TN and then visit a couple distilleries (Four Roses and Buffalo Trace).  I purchased a store selection of RR1792 for $25 to drink/share while staying with the in-laws.  I am not sure how much the store selection varied from regular 1792 since I hadn't sampled any from my own bottle at home recently.  I did not get anything from either distillery gift shop as Four Roses had the standard three offerings only and Buffalo Trace only had ER10, BT, White Dog, and their new vodka.  They had all the BT-distilled bottles for display in a locked cabinet behind the tasting bar though, including the entire BTAC and Pappy lines.  I wonder how often the tour guides receive offers on them...

On the way back home, we stopped at a Liquor Barn (Shelbyville I think).  My first experience at one and I am very impressed.  Beer selection at that location is not as good as my local or the Binny's in my area but the bourbon selection was solid.  I picked up the obligatory (according to all of you fine people) HH6BIB.  Also grabbed a J.W. Dant since I've never seen it in my area before.  Out the door with 3 bottles of bourbon and two bottles of wine (wife's picks) for <$70.  My wife even commented on how atypical that was for me.

Finally stopped outside Indy looking for 3 Floyds beer at Crown.  Was not disappointed there (Alpha King and Backmasking).  The surprise was all 10 FRSB PS recipes, of which I needed only one to complete my set, OBSV.  And for $54.99 still, not the increased price.  Then back on the road.

You're a man after my own heart.   Last time I was in KY I came home with some HHBIB and some JTSBBIB, and not much else.
