taddraughn
Picked up a 2016 Michter's 10 year bourbon at $85. Probably would have passed at the MSRP of $120 but my local has a habit of keeping the prices down!

fenderbender4
I've seen some mentions of ECBP, I'm in MN and was curious if people knew generally when MN gets new batches/releases in relationship to other states? I think WI is like a month behind MN, or so it seems.

I kind ins of wonder if the retailers don't order it because they don't know if it. I hope that's not the case though. Maybe Minnesota just doesn't get that much. The last bottle I got was batch 8. I need another!!!!
vismatt
Picked up a bottle of the ECBP batch 11 this morning.
risenc
I got a bottle of Four Roses SBBS, OBSQ at Liquor Barn in Louisville last week. It's easily the spiciest bourbon I've ever had.
dcbt
Hit a couple stores today on a whim, grabbed a Rhetoric 22 from one and (non-bourbon alert) a Balcones Rum from the other.

In my opinion, OBSQ barrels can be a bit variable (along with OBSF), while OBSV and OBSK are generally excellent. OBSK in particular can be very rich and delicious. If you want a little less spicy, then try to find one of the OE barrels (again, OESV and OESK being my preference). Usually can't go wrong with any of these private selections though. risenc
Don't get me wrong -- I love it. But it's definitely an outlier in my collection. foster016
Got a bottle of Knob Creek 2001. By far the most expensive bottle I've purchased in quite some time.

Fort Knox
Picked up an Angel's Envy (her favorite) for my wife's b'day tomorrow and a bottle of ECNAS, to have for comparison's sake to EC12.
starhopper
Got lucky today - walked in to my local liquor store and found these. The owner said he had ordered a case of each - but he only received one bottle each and had just put them on the shelf. So, if one of the reasons Heaven Hill gave for removing the 12 yr age statement from standard EC12 was so that they could make more of the ECBP available - why does it seem that it's just as scarce as last year? I've seen way more ECBP in MD this year than last year. It may just be that I'm better about knowing which stores will put it out, or how quickly I have to jump when it hits the neighboring county's ABC inventory website. Frankly, I think it's probably a combination of both. It took me 9 months to grab my first bottle. I've managed to grab 5 over the past two quarterly releases. I've kept 2 and given the other 3 to my bourbon friends who either aren't as game for the hunting it takes to grab them or just happened to respond to my text when I told them I saw it on the shelf. All of the purchases have been for $50-60. There are a few stores that have them priced at $100-150, and they sell, just not to me. Anyway, we're seeing more of it. Just have to step up the efforts around the time that the quarterly release is due to hit the shelves. I realize it's not the same in every market. I'm hoping the trend is for people like me to slow down purchases once we have a few tucked away and combined with a fuller distribution, it may become more easily available. It's a great $50 bourbon and right up there with Stagg Jr. and Booker's in the barrel proof, consistent quality bracket.
Charlutz
Bought an ECBP last night. Destined to be given to a friend. Today, happened to see a couple references to Noe Secret being the best Booker's batch in years. Saw some online posts by people lamenting they'd missed out on it. I've got half a bottle of the 2014 round table batch and wasn't about to go hunting as Booker's is always good, but was intrigued. While waiting for my daughter to complete an MRI 30 miles from home, I dropped by the closest shop according to the Waze app. It was a small place with only the bourbon basics, and one bottle of Noe Secret for $60. About $10 more than I usually pay, but it came home with me.
Paddy
I'm to the point where I'm probably only batting .100 (purchasing one in ten trips into a store), but a handle of ER10 for $55? Yes, and thank you!
MOwhisky4me
On vacation with the family and spending the first night in Denver before staying the rest of the week in Estes Park. After a 12 hour drive today I thought I should pick up a good bottle to enjoy over the next few days. Was hoping for a bottle of Leopold Brothers since I can't get that around mid Missouri, but settled for a fifth of CEHT SmB... Guess I don't have much to complain about if that's "settling"! Jazz Nut
Thought I had missed out on the Knob Creek 2001, and wasn't really hunting it down, but was lucky come across a few bottles. Bought 2, left 2 on the shelf, of Batch #1. Initial impressions are that it's not worth the money, a bit thin on mouthfeel, but good flavor. Will wait for a few more tastings to form a final opinion. Based on the individual batch tasting notes, batch #1 would by more up my alley.
