^For now I only took the handle which must be 10+ years old.

Shoot accidentally posted here intended to post in what you purchased today.

What the heck down the street also got this. They had a whole shelf handles and 1L Austin Nicola WT101.

Anyone have any idea how old this is?

If there is laser etched code anywhere on the bottle I can help you figure out how old

hitting the VOBBIB hard after car shopping with Mrs. Dick.....again. I've never bought a new car, and she's been driving the only new car she bought for the past 21 years. what a stressor.

Just a question for any non-beer liking guys here........do any of you get a beery profile off the VOBBIB? It's never been a favorite just because I always get a beer hint off the profile, and I dislike beer immensely. It's just an initial hint, but I get it every time.

Unfortunately that was no luck. What about a code in black ink on the back label or foil enclosure. Could be a string of numbers. Could start with an 'L'

I happened to open a new bottle of Red Horse. A little air usually helps these out.

Agreed. My bottle is down to a quarter left and tasting good but the first handful of pours were very different.

Switched it up. Late Friday afternoon/early evening. Probably have about 2 decent pours left in this bad boy or one last mega dram before it is put into the bottle graveyard. Just hanging out and going over my Europe itinerary.

I think its pretty interesting. I remember peeling open the first bottle I bought and thinking this was the flattest bourbon I have ever tasted. Originally, it might have been. Came back 2 or 3 weeks later for a follow up pour and had a totally different opinion on it.

Do you plan on buying a follow up bottle?

Haven't been able to find this

ECBP_zpsyfmau83n.jpeg for underr $100.00 until today. My local Kroger had it as a store managers pick for $60.  Grabbed it as soon as I saw it.  It wears its 127 proof proudly.  Strong acetone on the nose as soon as you pour it, but that goes away within a minute.  A lot of flavor that sticks around for awhile (heavy on the vanilla, kind of sweet in the middle, not as much oak as I would have figured and light pepper on the end.  Legs so strong it almost climbs out of the glass.  At 127 proof it burns all the way down.

^thats crazy how it just piped up at your local Kroger. Didn't they release the latest batch back in February? Either I'm jealous haven't seen any ECBP.

Sadly I had the last pour of my first and only bottle of Blanton's Gold. Damn I wish I had more of that to enjoy. That was followed by a small pour of EC18. And I am about to polish off a big pour of some OWA and hit the hay. Goodnight all.

Finished off a bottle of Yippee Ki-Yay. Now on to trying to finish off the last of a MMCS 111.4. I don't think I'm gonna make it. I underestimated how much was left. It was between this and ETL and wanted the ETL to last longer.

I'm ashamed to say that I've owned a few of these for a while now and never opened one, until tonight...dang whiskey hoarding.  My initial impression is that I really like it.

Just found this close to a golf course I play at in the ghetto.

I just noticed in this pic the bottle on the left is OC8 yr with the age statement placed diagonally across the label. Anyone know when they switched to the newer label? Any chance this was bottled before BT took over production? Thanks in advance.

I had a similar experience. Ive been digging the last several pours, it has nice lingering finish. Im no good at detailed tasting notes but  this one i find a rich with itch towards darker notes that i might taste in a george dickel whiskey. I will pick up another bottle, maybe not right away. Thinking of trying johhny drum which shares the same look.

Opened up with EWSiB 2007 & Ginger Ale.

Then  a small pour of CEHT BP (nearing the end of the bottle, sad to see it finish, excellent), rationing it out now.

Now for the main event:  SBS of Booker's 2014-6 vs B-95. Both excellent, give the edge to B95 due to viscosity & depth of flavor

Here's to change, growth, and the cycle of life! Happy spring! Prohibition is over. Cheers!

How do you like the prohibition style. I have passed it by many times but have yet to grab one. I get very tempted every time. I am thinking to pick one up this week.

It came with high reviews here. It snuck up on me quickly due to the proof. I like it, but I think it could stand to be a bit cheaper. There is a pretty good amount of ethanol burn. For bourbons with higher proof, I prefer Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, and Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Those two have much better flavor to me and less burn. I like spice burn, but the Prohibition Style is more of an ethanol burn. I actually prefer the Old Forester Single Barrel (which is half the price) over the Prohibition Style. A lot of people on here love it, though. YMMV. I can get Wild Turkey Rare Breed for about $20 cheaper around here and that is what I will do next time.
