Made a quick trip to KY and actually found a back dated 1.75 EC12 on the shelf for $52.99. Also picked up a HH6BIB and a 4RPS 10yr 1mo OESV from 2014 for $51.99.

That's a nice price on the OESV. It seems like everyone is charging $80 in my area now when they get a barrel

I was fortunate. He had 3 different barrels and was charging $68.99 for his newest. This one was a clearance price as it's from 2014 and he only had 3 bottles left and wanted the shelf space.

Picked these up today. I am very fortunate. I called almost every package store within a 50 mile radius, most said they haven't had it for a long time. However some said give me your name and number and I'll see what I can do. Lowe and behold I received a call yesterday to come pick these 2 bottles up. Super nice woman who owns the store and she has great selections of bourbons, and all things liquor, wine and beer. Makes sense as I think she said she had worked for a distributor in the past. Anyway she has won my business even though she's 15 miles away.  I hope it's worth the efforts.IMG_0390.JPG.b07676d296943396b4fef2c860dc0c2e.JPGIMG_0391.JPG.44742cfa3efbb3e9512070e888c4e3dc.JPG

Nice work! I've been trying for a few years now to find even one bottle at retail. I either get laughed at or told the price is $150. I have one open bottle and one in the bunker that I paid more than I should have for. I couldn't stand not having at least one backup of it.

This is my first store pick of KC. This place always does a great job of picking bourbons. I may crack this open this weekend.

Congrats on your find.

You should get rid of the picture of the store name and phone number (reciept).

The D-bag trolls will call and harass that lady non-stop for rare bottles and you'll effectively be part of the reason why.

Don't make it easy for them to ruin your new favorite store.

Yeah I thought of that, maybe I will get rid of it. I promised the lady I'd spread the word about her. She put me down for a pappy bottle also. She asked me to use facebook, but I don't do facebook.

Yeah, as I said I'm fortunate for only being at this for a few months. I also saw 3 bottles of the ETL at another place and didn't purchase gonna go back. So much to try and so little time.

Damn, this place looks great overall, and I'd never heard of them before! I might actually drive not 15 but 30 miles this weekend to check them out.

Yeah I generally agree with this.  There are surely lurkers on here in the woodwork.  Funny I have never understood what compels people to post on the worldwide web where they buy stuff and how much they paid for it.  Is it a form of  narcissism? Craving attention? Sorry I'm not calling out this post but a comment in general because it happens all the time.

Picked up an ECBP A117. I'd heard it wasn't as good as some recent batches but for 50 bucks I'm happy enough to try it for myself. I was almost out of my only other bottle too (139.4).

BIL picked up the WT8 in Tokyo.  I found the Ezra 12 at a supermarket in Wisconsin.  I foolishly paid $55. I used to pass these up at $30 5 years ago.  Looks like Luxco has no shame in cashing in on the boom.

I don't know why, I checked today after work the liquor stores in Skopje, assuming I'll go back disappointed again from the regular poor choice, but surprisingly, I stumbled upon Jim Beam Signature Craft 12 years old. The price was 51 usd, but without thinking I reached out for my wallet. I had "no brainer" dilemma between that one and NAS Tamnavulin (Speyside single malt) with a price of 30 usd. The price though in USA is in the range from 27 to 40 usd, a lot cheaper than in this part of the World. The first thing I did when I came back I read the reviews and they were all good.  Some connoisseurs were rating it 95/100, which is extremely high for any whiskey out there. The bottling strength at just 86 proof for a 12 year old bourbon is a little bit disappointing, but let's uncork and see.

Any thoughts about this one from anyone?

Cheers!

I work in Hopkinton, so after reading this, I shot over to this store over lunch. Just as you described it. The manager was pleasant and knowledgeable. The prices were very good. I picked up a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel and a bottle of Sazerac Rye at great prices. The manger is also willing to try and find difficult stuff, so she is searching on a bottle of Stagg for me.

I will go back there.

Idaho liquor stores finally put Larceny on the shelf today.  Good news is that it comes with a $10.00 rebate/750 ml.
