It's what's referred to on this forum as unobtainium.  Let us know what you think of it.  I'm all ears. :D

Yes sir! :)

The jug of the 4 yo is the only variety of VOB the Va ABC carries. And on their website it says "Limited Time" so I don't know what to make of that which was why I was determined to land a bottle, pronto.

I understand the desire to get a bottle of something you haven't tried before that has a decent reputation and is relatively inexpensive. I hope you enjoy it for what it is, and if nothing else it'll make a good mixer. Cheers!

Make a mental note that deliveries are made to the stores on Tuesdays.  So check them out later that day and be sure and ask if they got in any backroom specials as well.  The stuff that doesn't get added to their website. ;)

Deliveries are made every day of the week. It depends on where the store is for what day that store gets deliveries (every store gets its weekly delivery on one day M-F). I know a bunch around me are Tuesday deliveries but the store I prefer is a Wedn stay delivery.

They tend to get it fairly regularly but you need the store manager to know what he's doing and actually order it (around me one store gets it far more often then the others, and it's not the biggest one). They do tend to sell out and go a few weeks before the next shipment arrives though. Hope you enjoy.

What the heck does any of this have to with pugs????

And, furthermore, I find the homely little dudes (& dudettes, I suppose) so funny looking that they are super-cute!

In fact I bet whomever coined the term; 'repugnant' never met one in person... So There!    That's my stance and I'll stick to it until I'm proven wrong!

Pretty pumped about this one.  Knob creek private select picked by the house of blues. I don't know how it made it to the shelf never seen a private select in Ohio before.  Is there anyway to found out the info for this barrel?

A very kind SB member (you know who you are) alerted me about a store in Maryland that had RY10 available. So I made the trip and came home with a bunch of goodies. The 4R are OESF (almost 11 years) and OESV (a little over 10 years).

I've tried Bakers off and on for 30 years. It's pleasant, nothing wrong with it, but it has never really managed to peak my interest. Anyone here love it? I'm happy to listen if there's something I'm missing about it.

I personally think it's pretty darn good.  I also think some of the extra enthusiasm you see about it is because fans of Baker's are aware that it's barely ever talked about and mostly overlooked.  Therefore when it is talked about we tend to champion it. The thing about this one is that it's often a bit overpriced on liquor store shelves.  But when I see it in the mid to low 30's I think it's a very good value.  I also feel it's a good choice at bars that either don't have a big selection or else have high prices.  Oftentimes Baker's is a good value under-the-radar pour at 107 proof. That's how I was introduced to it myself.

Where did you buy it?  Why don't you ask them about it?

It was from a grocery store and I did ask them the kid behind the counter didn't have a clue. There was no other private select bottles just this one bottle.

Ahh ok I understand.  Perhaps Jim Beam customer service might be able to provide info about the barrel.

:D Thanks for the discretion but no need to keep it secret. You're welcome. I'm really glad it worked out for you, Joe. Were there any RHF left? I may grab another if so.

Thanks for the detailed comments, and that's a good point about the 107 proof. I'll keep them in mind next time I try it.

Yikes. Wasn't that long ago that I picked up a few handles of W12 for $38 (in Plano), which was higher than I had ever seen it.

It looked like there were another two RHF's. I do believe I got the last of the Taylor BP's though. And thanks again for the heads up. The RY10 was something I've wanted for a little bit and VA doesn't carry it. It did briefly show up on the website in the fall but then was quickly removed and never came back.

I recently tried the regular Belle Meade. Thought it was quite good for around $40 considering that most of what I try these days in the $40 to $80 price range doesn't really impress me that much.

Holy cow that's an impressive array of liquid gold!  Would you rate that as your biggest haul to date?

Actually bought this yesterday but wanted to make sure I got it home before posting.  Never had the Gold and only saw the one bottle on my travels.
