Picked up a David Nicholson 1843 and a WSR today. The 1843 is something I've never tried and want to give it a shot. The WSR is hard for me to find in the St. Louis area and stumbled across the last one on the shelf at a place close to me. Will be checking back in there every once in a while here forward. The monger told me they also had W12 for the first time in a while last week and the case lasted them about 2 hours. I didn't ask if one guy cleaned them out.

Hi all, new to the forum. Been drinking brown water since around 06/07. Local ABC had these on the shelves. Got one left the rest.

I haven't cracked open the Puckett's Branch. It was on sale for $20 and I don't recall seeing it in Kentucky; so I figured I would give it a try. My expectations aren't high for it. I'll let you know after I try it out.

Picked up a Fighting Cock 6 year to try, why not.

Those age-stated FC's (6-year) are getting hard to find here in 'The Mitten State'.     I'd say; "Grab Several", it's pretty decent stuff.

Just the one was left unfortunately. Will probably give it a go at the weekend.

Forgiven needs to be 'forgiven' for the price at which it has been sold... or should I say; 'listed', since so little of it sold for the original asking price.     Now, if you can get it for about $13... Grab one.

I haven't seen RHF on the shelf for a couple years so I gave a little more than I wanted to... it was in a little out of the way store and they had two for $63 ea. I bought one and left one. The other three were from my regular store and were all at retail.

Lol. Its on the shelf for around $50 I think. When I saw it was right at 90 proof I hard passed. The "story" is off too. Oh well. It can sit.

Grabbed a RHF for the bunker at $63. I've got several now but I will keep adding as it's my favorite in that price range.

Got a call from my favorite local LS owner saying he was holding a bottle of Weller 12 yr for me. Stopped by after work and chatted with him a while, he said he had also gotten in a couple cases of ETL and some individual bottles of Saz and Stagg Jr. Passed on the Saz and Stagg as I have what I want of those at the moment. Thanked the owner and picked up my W12 for $28 and a bottle of ETL for $40 and headed home... It was a good day.

I've struck out everywhere in MO for W12. Even the little store in my southeast MO hometown said they got 3 bottles in last week. Some guy from St. Louis called and purchased all 3 bottles from them over the phone and they held them for him till he drove the 2 hours to pick them up. Sigh. Been over 3 years I think since Ive found a bottle at retail.

^^^^^That's an ass hat move by your local store, and I'd be sure and let them know how I felt about that.

If they were worth a darn, all three of those bottles would've stayed local (and not gone to the same guy, IMO).

^^^This..... I could maybe understand him holding 1 for him, but all 3? Ridiculous.

I was lucky enough to have my local guy hold 1 W12 (the last bottle) for me as I walked the 5 blocks to pick this up.

That is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. I agree with Paddy, I'd talk to the owner and at least let him know that you're interested in knowing when he gets in those kind of selections. I'd think most private/local shop keeps would appreciate and hopefully reward someone who wants to spend their money locally.

I have spent a lot of time (and a pretty good amount of the green stuff) building a good relationship with one of my local shop owners. He knows what I like and always gives me a call when he has something he knows I'll be interested in.

While I was there picking up the W12 and ETL there was a fella in the store getting a couple bottles of Weller SR. I struck up a conversation and found out he was in town from St. Louis and was excited to be able to grab a couple WSR, said he can't find it anywhere around StL. Makes me feel pretty fortunate to live where I do and have the local resources for bourbon that we have here around Jefferson City.

Picked up one of these today - was looking for the other barrel (5182 I believe), but they didn't have any on the shelf. I had previously heard this barrel had been sold out, but they were able to find me one in the back. Most likely try at least a short pour of this one later this evening. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Around here one store takes all the limited number stuff and pretty much puts it in the office and does a lottery on Black Friday.  A few of the other stores will have it behind the counter, not hidden.  But rest assured that if it's behind the counter that equates to a significant amount over suggested retail.  A couple of stores put stuff out but if you're not one of the first to get there, well, then good luck.  I've been working to try and get a relationship with some of them so hopefully I can score something every once in awhile.

Got a nice delivery today including this Belle Meade 10yr 104.8 proof store pick.  I know a lot of people jumped on the SAOS when Wine & Cheese Place had them....I'm curious if anyone has tried this BM.  Bourbon purists please disregard my new found love for Campbeltown scotch.

I had a pour of TWCP Belle Meade a few weeks ago. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I need to go buy a bottle. That's the only time I've ever had anything from Belle Meade.
