Haven't opened mine yet..and surprised it didn't even make his list. I'm not saying anything - just askin' what they thought about the pour. Just trying to get a read on the 2017 since I've seen mixed reviews about it (some say it's really good, some not so impressed). 6 hours ago, bourbon4all said: It was the 2016 THH. Thought so, thanks. But it was good, yes? I really liked mine (and so did my friends . . . . . those pigs!).

I just have one question. Did Sarah do the SAOS bottles? Biba! Joe
JCwhammie
Last night the future Misses and i went to an open bar Christmas party (the host’s mother works for a local distributor). After a glass of wine and a few beers i asked the host if they have any bourbon. He pulled out a bottle of HWDR. After a drink of that he said they have a bottle of Blanton’s somewhere. Neither he nor his wife are whiskey drinkers. He told me to open it and have a pour. After opening it he told me to take it home, and he was persistent about it. That’s a nice gift from the Bourbon gods.
BottledInBond
I'm finally hitting the couch after having some family over for a few hours. I'm rehydrating with some 2016 Four Roses LE small batch. I don't think this stuff lives up to the best years of small batch but it's still a nice whiskey, on the sweeter end of things
fishnbowljoe
After a rather busy weekend, I'm finally kicking back with a couple of celebratory pours of 07 WLW. I'm celebrating because I bought a new vehicle yesterday. A couple of years ago I sold my beloved 2005 Pontiac Aztek. It was affectionately known as "The Bourbonmobile". I know a number of members here will remember it. When I posted (with pics) about selling my Aztek, Smokinjoe posted: Dang, Joe! I know that had to hurt to let go of the Rolling Copper Tequila Still (Rolling Copper Bourbon Still is already taken, I think. ). Where does one even go in trying to replace an Aztec? Well, it took a couple of years, but here's how. I am now the proud owner of a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I'm pretty certain that my Tucson will never even come close to seeing the amount of bourbon my Aztek did. Somehow I think that I'll still probably refer to it as "The Bourbonmobile 2". The pics below say it all. Biba! Joe Pic#1. My 2005 Pontiac Aztek Pic#2. My 2017 Hyundai Tucson.

I like the color, and its certainly less homely than the Aztek. Congrats, Joe! Once I make it home, I shall hoist a glass to help celebrate. Nice color but I think if it had spent a couple of more years in the barrel it might have developed a deeper more burnt sienna tone.

I really like the new ride Joe and congrats! Love the color! Back on topic: 1792 BIB as I open this bottle Nose is candy much like a rye Quite a bit of spice on the front end, some bitterness in the middle, and a very good finish. Reminds me more of high rye than the 1792 High Rye but it's been a while since I had that - may need to do a SBS later tonight Edited December 4, 2017 by Hop
