Kepler
Back to the FR small batch LE this afternoon. Compared small pours of 2016 vs 15 vs 14. All great, but I found the 2015 the most unique. But I look forward to more research!

Plan on taking it easy for a while and if I get bored I'll go find something to do. Since I'm only 58 I hopefully will have a number of years to enjoy life. I have a 2 month old grandson who I plan on spoiling.

If 17 is better then I'm gonna need that other bottle of 17 back (you know who you are ). Edited November 6, 2017 by 0895

FacePlant
Started a little early with the first games. Weller 107 SP, then hit the dwindling bottle of W12. Keeping with the BT, ETL was up next. Saw the new bottle of Belle Meade and decided to open it. What to my wondering eyes did appear, bottle #1 to continue the great cheer.
Louisiana
I haven't had any Redbreast12 in a while, but this got me hooked on Whiskey. I know it isn't Bourbon, but I'm posting here for the newer guys. Give it a shot if haven't already. So Easy & Full of Flavor! How does the single barrel compare to the regular Belle Meade? I have not tried the single barrel yet.
RWBadley
This High West 21-year-old rye is a magnificent end to a fine weekend here. Lots of orange notes and pepper spicy hints of cherry. Subtle vanilla flavors. Different wood influence due to use of used oak barrels. Cheers RW

Let it sit for about 15 mins. And the alcohol fumes evaporated away, leaving a magnificent flavor bomb. Really freaking good. Harry in WashDC
15 hours ago, CardsandBourbon said: Went to a retirement party, for me, but I'm not going until the end of next April. One of my co workers brought me a bottle of Old Tub which we started on. Next up was KC SmB, then 4R SmB and finished the afternoon with some MMCS 113.2 proof. Some advice from an old faht - Don't go to the post office and the grocery store on the same day - takes up too much time. Go to one then go do something YOU want to do. This not only gets a chore done but it gets you out of the house more. Some more advice - after a couple months you won't believe how busy you are so don't throw away your calendar/dayplanners. My wife is the anal retentive so she keeps the calendar. More advice - if your wife keeps the calendar, be sure to get your entries in EARLY so you don't hear, "Well, if you'd told me sooner . . ." AND, do not share this post with her as she'll make ME keep the calendar. Wheated bourbons lately - the GW4G blend a couple nights then OWA with a small cube which I let melt. The cube takes the OWA down to about 100 proof, and I REALLY like it there. Sometimes the WSR just doesn't do it, and the OWA neat lacks depth considering its heat, sometimes. But that OWA w/melted cube is something special to me.
