Marekv8
This one made it back in rotation early. It's become my new control bourbon, at least while it lasts. A great balance of age, proof and presentation.

What do you think of the Dickel 17? I’ve got a bottle but haven’t visited it in a while. Opening w/ ‘Noe Hard Times’. Just cracked it. This one needs to open up some. It is an oak bomb but for some reason it kind of works for me with Dickel, that being said I'm glad it was a $75 375ml instead of a $150 750ml. dad-proof
Great almost-Summer day mostly outdoors with the family. It was a lot of fun but tiring, so ended it with a well-deserved glass (or two!) of 9-year old OBSV while watching baseball.

Spade
A side by side of two different store picks of OESQ. One is a little over 8 years and the other 9. The results are exactly what I expected: both are pretty darn good.

So good Switched from the WTKS store pick (Kentucky store) to a different WTKS store pick (different store, this time from Specs in Texas). No comparison, the Kentucky store pick is miles better. The Specs pick is still noticeably better than the regular stock WTKS so I still recommend it and would buy another if I didn't already have a case of the Kentucky store pick :- ) Edited May 20, 2018 by Kepler SB.com smiley face emojis don't work

Different but almost at the same level. With the MK Decades (my favorite of all "available" bourbons released in 2017), plus great feedback on the recent 101, and now a great Rare Breed batch, it seems like Wild Turkey's arrow is pointing upwards. As a huge Turkey fan, I'm really happy about this. Edited May 20, 2018 by Kepler

Richnimrod
I poured a couple nice ones yesterday in celebration of my birthday: Wild Turkey Master's Keep, Decades and, Four Roses SmBLE, Al Young 50th Anniversary. Clueby
Having a SBS of 2016 vs 2017 GTS while watching some playoff hockey. Thanks to a generous SB'r (actually a couple of them) for the 17 sample. The 16 is noticeably darker, stronger, and thicker/oilier. Might be mostly due to the higher proof at 144.1. The 17 is "only" 129.2. The 17 is a little more of what I love about GTS. Its just...more. Dark fruits, burnt brown sugar, oak, spice, heat all work well. The 17 is way more refined on the nose and palate. It has more of a fresh brighter, light fruit mid-palate when compared SBS. The finish is longer on the 16 as well, again probably due to the high proof. The spice on the finish of the 17 is a little more noticeable since it's not masked by the alcohol as much. They are both fantastic whiskeys but I'm leaning toward the 16.

Mako254
Headed to Tybee Island Thursday. Spent most of the afternoon dragging beach stuff out of the shed, cleaning coolers and what not. Traded some WT samples to another Turkey head. Enjoyed this a little earlier. Proud to be a Lawrenceburg man.
