flahute
Is there another one on the side of the bottle? Should be down low. If not, and this is it, there’s info missing off the front ofbth code.

I don't know what the rest means - probably date, time and location...
Masset1982
Sipping some Decades, thicker than I remember, awesome juice, I would stock up on this if it wasn’t awfully priced. Cheers! Will.

It should be there below the back label. It's pretty faint so you need to have strong light and look from different angles. Mine was in direct sunlight for the pic. I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but does anyone else think it's crazy that they're able to do barrel proof batches that always have the same proof? I wonder how many batches there are now of the 116.8. Is there another barrel proofer that doesn't do hand written proofs on the label?

That's a very similar batch code to mine so it makes sense that you are finding it particularly good. Also - it's not actually barrel proof, but I think you know that. GaryT
Enjoyed a nice pour of some dusty WT101 8yr because; 1) it's fu@#$ing delicious 2) I'm mourning not being in Bardstown, and wanted to drown that shit in something decent (and bourbon)

They don't want to create custom labels every time that tell the exact proof so they choose a proof they know they'll always be able to create and add just enough water to get there with each batch. JCwhammie
Having some EC12 (rear age statement) while watching the redbirds (not doing well) try to beat Kershaw. The woodiness of this pour makes it a when-in-the-mood pour for me. While I dont feel like I'm 100% in the mood for it tonight, it does taste pretty good. I think it'll switch it up to a store pick of the 100 proof OBSV after this.

I picked up two (2) 750s of a store pick WSR today - one to taste and one to use in vatting if appropriate after tasting. Your post encouraged me to go get my almost empty "Grandpa Weller Four Grain" (2 units of OGD114 to 3 WSR) and double-check my label (which I just copied here). GeeTen picked the ratio although some other SBers liked other ratios - 50/50 works, too. I tried several and decided the 2:3 is for me.
Harry in WashDC
Picked up and opened a store pick Blanton's. Even though it is from Warehouse H llike all Blanton's offerings are, it is spicier and a bit more alcohol-blooming and woody and not as "round" or as "sweet" as a typical Blanton's. I have liked the store's previous picks (MMCS, BT, ER, etc.) and am pleased with this one. It is from Rick 7, barrel 241. I'd expect nearby barrels to be similar. I've already had too much of it. In the opinion of at least one other person, anyway.
Wedelstaedt
Wheater Thursday. RY10. This barrel has the best of a wheated bourbon, combined with a typical Rye bourbon. Viscosity plus spice & sweet oak balance. Cheers

They don't want to create custom labels every time that tell the exact proof so they choose a proof they know they'll always be able to create and add just enough water to get there with each batch. From the Campari web site: "We’ve always been exceptionally proud of our award-winning Wild Turkey Rare Breed Bourbon. One of the pioneers of small batch bourbon, Rare Breed is pure barrel proof whiskey, meaning no water is added to reduce the level of alcohol during the bottling process. This special attribute also allows for Rare Breed to change each time we make it. Most recently, it had finished around 112.8 proof, but we’re excited to announce that this year’s breed is a little different. Hitting shelves this spring, the latest Rare Breed expression coming out of the Wild Turkey distillery pours out of the barrel at 116.8 proof. It’s an unapologetic, bold spirit with tones of warm butter scotch and vanilla, and hints of fruit and spices. Its lingering caramel sweetness makes it a remarkably smooth whiskey. And, with our new proof, we felt it was time to give our packaging a face lift to align more succinctly with our core value for today’s premium Bourbon consumers. We hope you enjoy it. Cheers, Jimmy and Eddie Russell, Wild Turkey Master Distillers"
