I haven’t seen 1 bottle yet on any social media outlet, SB.com or in person. I believe the Eagle 17 has the smallest quantity of just about any BTAC this year (something like 2-3,000 bottles compared to 10-12x that many for some of the others. It’s the one I most wanted to try besides the WLW, but it isn’t looking like it’ll be my year this time around. Haha. I do know one person who got an ER17 in TX but no one around me has gotten any yet this year.

Clueby
I saw 1627 as the number of ER17 bottles released.

That sounds right because I think the Saz was around 3k and then up to Stagg at maybe 38k? All I remember was waaaaay more Stagg this year than anything else. I'd heard a lot of good things about it so, when I saw it for $16 at TW, I got two. Opened it last night and, I have to say, I was not impressed. Nose: mostly alcohol with a bit of peanut. Palate like the nose. Followed with a pour of OE7 101 which blew it away. I hope it opens up or it will our cocktail bottle here at the Smith residence... What do you guys think of it? I thought it was great until the finish faded quickly to nothing.

The number was super low and with the change in proof I think a lot of the bottles didn’t make it past distribution or store owners/managers. It was the only bottle my LS got completely Goose egged on.
Dango
Pretty good. Sweetest bourbon I've had to date, with some vanilla and marzipan or almond.

A sub $20 bourbon with a good mouthfeel and 100 proof. It’s not a daily drinker for me but sometimes it scratches my JB itch and lets me extend the life of my KCSiBs. I like it during the holidays in eggnog and I’m going to try it in a spiced hot chocolate recipe I saw recently. On 12/4/2018 at 7:01 PM, Richnimrod said: As do I, Kev. In fact the only JB expression I don't care for neat is JB White label. I can drink it; but, don't do so very often. Anything from that mashbill with more proof, and especially with a little more age, tastes fine to me. That peanutty note I find is moderated, and pleasing to my palate in KC, KCSB, Booker's, JB Black, JB BIB, JB Distiller's Cut, etc. I'm quite impressed by Distiller's Cut. I find it to be a poor man's Baker's and that's a good thing. In fact, when I can get JBDC for $17 I find it hard to justify $40 (or more) for Baker's. Yes Baker's benefits from longer aging, but the DC has as good or maybe even better mouthfeel. Edited December 9, 2018 by Kepler

However, you didn’t steer me wrong when you first convinced me to buy the Decades and the original 17yr. I don’t think the sherry influence is that strong, but I like a sherry finish anyway.

A caveat, my palate has been off for several weeks, due to a lingering sinus infection. It is coming back, thankfully. However, my ability to distinguish delicate sweet notes is still lacking. Having said all of this, I did not pick up sherry notes, like I have found in other Sherry finished bourbons that I have sampled. What i enjoyed was a seriously good Traditional WT pour. I look forward to coming back to the bottle, as my palate recovers fully. I hope I helped you, but I am sure I just muddied the water. Hopefully someone else can give help. BTW, I hope the new coach at Ohio St., continues the great seasons you all have had recently. Cheers
