bayouredd
My meager fall grab so far... The J Magnus & 1 Blantons was 2day. The store owner said he had never tried the JM. I asked if he would like a taste. He gave me 10% off for a 1/2 once pour. So it ended up as a 1/2 once pour for 10 bucks and some pretty nice goodwill to boot...
fosmith
Not today but yesterday I purchased online a bottle of EHT SiB. I love the SmB and hope the SiB is worth the extra $20+. From what I've heard, it's drier, deeper and more intense than the SmB.

I would definitely buy it at retail but haven't been able to find one. The store I was counting on only got 1 bottle this year. They got 2 bottles of 11. One that I will miss when gone and immediately replace next time my LS gets a shipment in.
lcpfratn
Controversial apparently. I don’t really think it’s controversial. It just different, and if you’re open to something different from a traditional bourbon, you may or may not like it. I like it a lot, but it’s not something I’m going to drink everyday, even if it was readily available and more affordable.

Several years ago, I compared the first bottle of SiB I bought with the SmB and found them to be pretty close, but I preferred the SmB and have never bought another SiB. It was enjoyable and definitely worth paying the premium to find out. Single barrels can vary and I’m sure someday I’ll try it again, but I have peace of mind with a few bottles of SmB in the house and none of the SiB. Happy drinking! Whiskeythink.com
Another 14 yr KCSB store pic. This one was only $37. Bargain. Initial take is it's pretty good. Will see if it improves as it opens up. The last couple 14 yrs I opened were just ok. One was over oaked & the other was kinda one dimensional, but this one seems better.
JSpartan
Picked up a VOB BiB @ 14.99 and Willett Estate 4 yr Rye @ $51.99. I'e only tried the 3 year rye so looking forward to cracking open the 4 year.
raymoall
Just picked up the OE 117 and got the RR last week. Showing the OE 101 because I just did a SBS. I’m not great at these, but there’s a big difference between the two, and not all of it is because of the higher proof IMO. Seem to get a little more woodiness from the 117, and certainly more of an after burn at the finish...but not killer. At $35, i’m happy with my purchase. As someone mentioned, need to see how it stands up against OGD 114.

It’s interesting that most of the prices I’ve heard from those that have found it are below the $39.99 MSRP.
PowderKeg
Put a hurtin' on the bourbon budget this week+, all to be bunkered for future continued enjoyment. OE101 and OFbib (1L) were $20 per. The OF was on the bottom shelf of a slightly upscale-ish Little Rock LS I hadn't stopped by before (been here a year). Judging by the dust on the bottles - and that OFbib was DQ'd about the time I moved - they were there much longer than that. I'm still trying to get over the horrific thought that I had OFbib within easy reach for over a year without knowing, and could'a missed it entirely if not for a spur-of-the-moment stop...

What would you compare it to flavor profile wise? Just picked up another 1.75 of Weller 12, so I have a ton of bourbon in house usually only drink on weekends, so careful about over buying. HoustonNit
Got a call for this and picked it up yesterday. I’m not complaining by any means but I picked one up last year for $30 and now it’s $35 that’s like 17% price increase in one year. $35 for what’s supposed to be 12yr and SB bourbon is still a steal, especially BT MB#2.

The 126 proof batch is one of the best ryes I've ever tasted. Smokes HW Rendezvous, WP 10, Pikesville, and Knob Creek SiB IMO.

It's been at least $35 here for years. Most places charge significantly more. At least they TRY to. I haven't seen one on a shelf for under $50. Saw one the other day for $150. foppa78
I was in a different part of town and was able to stop by a few stores. The Elijah Craig as a grand opening special at $20. I love Booker's and so far the 2017-01 has by far been my favorite. Until today I have not been able to find a bottle of it. I am excited to have this.

I had a barrel pick last year at a local steakhouse and really liked it. Than again I don’t trust the bartender and think he might of mixed it up with there EC pick. BMartin42
Grabbed a WSR and a Binny’s KCSB store pick. Hoping the latter isn’t too hot. 128.8 for KC seems like it could be pushing it.

I haven't had the barrel strength OE yet, but I'm a big fan of the expression it's replacing; OE 7 yr. 101 proof. The 101 proof is what I reach for when I want a WT 101 with the spice turned down a notch. It also has a grain note that I like. It's not a too young, green, grainy taste. Kepler
Landed at a college town sports bar after a full day of tailgating and football game. The beer selection is excellent but the bourbon pickings are slim. I ordered a Woodford double oak out of curiosity, haven't had it outside of 2 distillery tour tastings in Kentucky. It's fine, better than I remember.
