Just felt like a nice pour tonight although the Blues did win tonight.

Haven't had any bourbon in several days. Should have eased into this one.

Yes. Not sure what I should follow it with. Kinda downhill from here.

Go with WLW 2007 - lower proof but has always been my favorite.  Doesn't get a lot of love though.

Bit of a different night - a lot of 1 oz. pours.   Dickel Barrel Select, then Rebel Yell 10 Year, then Jack Daniels Barrel Proof, then David Nicholson 1843, and finally Bowman Brothers.

I’m having some Old Grand Turkey or Wild Grandad if you prefer. 50/50 OGD 114 and RR 6 yr Rye. She’s running a little hot for 102 proof but the flavor is there.

When I mix OGD with WT I call it "Old Gobbler"

You seem to be fond of the FRSiB! I bought my first today and have yet to try.. Mine appears to be out of the same warehouse (JW) 69-2E. What barrel number is yours if I may ask? Thx!

Wham, thanks.. I’m assuming the 12 is the individual barrel.. The 3K is an area/rick and/or aisle within that warehouse I guess?? Again, thanks for sharing.. ;)

I’m splurging. I’m enjoying a healthy pour of that HMcK10 award winning goodness on the rocks.

I know 3 is the level (it goes up to 6). All the 4 Roses rickhouses are 1 story. I'm not sure what the 12 and K refer to.

Warehouse: J,

West door/side

rick #12,

3 up from the floor (out of 6 high total)

11 barrels in from the aisle (K) (out of 23 I think total? It’s 20 something.... I cannot remember).

So, sibling barrels are all the same info, except letter tells you placement left and right.

Cousin barrels (my made up term) are same Rick, but different levels.

Ricks often hold the same recipes of mash runs.

:)

All of that seems to make sense, but I’m a little confused though.. My bottle is JW 69-2E. The “69” does not compute, lol. A longer row within there somewhere??

Rick #69

2 high

5 in (E)

locations are based from the aisleways.

2 aisles per warehouse, running E-W or N-S.

ricks on both sides , doors on each end.

Like a letter H in a way.

Sorry, I can't help but be distracted by that cherry red Les Paul in the background. Nice axe!

Cheers,

Thanks Nancy and Kane. "Candy" is the candy apple red Lester. I've got three over here with me right now (2 more in US storage). Candy gets hot rodded this fall. The gold one got done this last winter. The sunburst is kind of amazing as she is.

That 12 yr sig was pretty impressive; not sure why they don't have a standard 12 yr offering yet.  Between that and JB Distiller's Cut, I could be quickly be a convert (and would have lost a lot of money betting against that!)

I hate to admit this but the 12yr sig was the worst of the flight. I do love the 12yr signature, but mostly as a great blending component with anything that tastes syrupy, flat, underaged or over vanilla, since it confers spice and the cherry note.

I do think that this will be very handy in the coming years when stuff is getting rushed out the door underaged and unbalanced

Very nice looking collection. What’s your music of choice with those bad boys?

Dude! WTF is up with the upside down label on the JBB?

0895 got it right. This was a high capacity bottle intended for inversion on a European bar.

Anything loud and proud.

ZZ Top, Stones, Aerosmith, Cult.

I'm still a much better collector than a player, but I'm working on it every day.

SRV or Hendrix?

Both. But we must put Hendrix a bit higher because SRV was a heavy student of Hendrix. You don't get SRV if Hendrix didn't exist.

Edit: Hendrix would have LOVED SRV. I'm confident they would have collaborated.
