Im guessing this is a @WhiskeyBlender selection.

Not bad. Way better than the standard WW I tried about three years ago.

Yes it sure is, Steve! Do you happen to know what batch you tried 3 years ago? It might have been from one of the early batches that had a fair amount of acetaldehyde in it.

Resurrected the last full bottle from a barrel pick done locally a couple years ago, stored away to make room in the queue for several that needed to be killed off, then left to languish for too long.

Knob Creek SB 120.

A wonderful balance of cookie-baking spices, brown sugar, roasted peanuts and oak.   May be better even than I had remembered this barrel to be.    I wish I had a case backed up.

I’m trying to knock out a 1.75L bottle of VOB90 to make some needed room, but really had a taste for some WTRB.. Got crazy and had a 60/40 mixture respectfully of each.. More then pleasantly surprised! Enjoying, and may concoct this crazy whim again! :)

I wasn't savvy enough to photograph the bottle way back then. It was the standard expression - not a barrel proof batch like this one - and it was really quite bad.

No, probably not.

But I could really go for some hanging out in Belgium drinking WLW with you this week.  It's been a real crapper at work.

i'll be happy to cheer you up with a nice pour of WLW (or some Stagg ? )

Cheers!

Will.

The heat index is 105°. So, how about some refrigerated HH green label? Yes, please!

Long, hot day at work. Heat index is 108° currently. Not feeling much like bourbon now. Maybe later.

Maybe later. Despite the heat, my wife and I are meeting some family for our local annual Kiwanis Brat Days. Always a fun time with music, food, friends and family. They’ve  been doing this for over 40 years now. We’ve been going for over 30 years, and I will say that I don’t ever remember it being this hot out.

Having a pour from my Elijah Craig Barrel Select 200ml hand grenade this afternoon. Kind of disappointing this go around, seems like just a high proof single dimensional standard HH whiskey. I seem to remember more maple influence before.

Been gone from SB for a few months, but for good reasons. Business is kicking ass, planted a cooking herb garden & got me one of these; and lives near at that...

Since the Little Lady is visiting Grandson #1 in Dallas, I thought I would celebrate Friday with a Yellowstone Limited 2018 & a Davidoff Mini Nicaragua...

Steve, it definitely sounds like it was one of the early batches with all the acetaldehyde. The standard expression (small batch) is a very different beast these days, without those kind of faulty notes.

Double WLW 2018 via “room service”— it’s been a long day.
