Finished off 3 bottles of ER tonight. Technically there was not very much left in each bottle, so I blended them all together and made one big glass of bourbon. :D

I’ve never finished off bottles like that before. 🤥  Cheers Lloyd!

Clinked two bottles from The House of Heaven Hill:

ECNAS PS & EWSiB 2005. Same mashbill, so different in profiles. So cool.  It amazes me every time.

Cheers

Two more for the bin this afternoon.  A 10 year old Elijah Craig PS, which was so good I bought a case a few years back; and a Makers Mark CS, which got better as the level of liquid in the bottle approached the bottom.

These two made room for the HH cats and dogs and bunker buster bottles I brought up earlier this week.

Fare well, fine friends!  Prost!

Finished off an ET BiB this afternoon; such a great value. Glad it's been pretty readily available around here lately.

As I mentioned in another thread, I’ve been working on some low fill bottles lately.  😐

This Larceny was slightly better than the last couple I bought. Even if on sale, I probably won’t be buying any more. Yeah, I know.....🤐

Polished off an EWSB. Probably replace it with an EC since that hasn't been on the shelf in awhile....want to go really slow with the Henry McKenna BIB 10 I have here...such a great expression of that HH mashbill....

That EC gift mix made excellent old fashioneds. Double kill, both served me well.

Finished off this WT81 from 2011 that @parksmart generously picked up for me at one of his East Bay honey holes.  Pretty light and smooth but nice caramel and cinnamon on the nose.  Good for a first pour, especially after a spicy meal when higher proof bourbons can taste too hot.

The other end of the "proof ladder".  Chapter 3, the only bourbon in the series.  I have to say, this was a bit of a let down.  Given all the hype for this one, I expected more.  It wasn't bad.  In fact, it was very good with lots of complexity.  But, it seemed to lack the depth of flavor you get from ECBP, Stagg Jr. or even Booker's.  I thought it would open up over time but it never really did.  I'm glad I only paid $80 for it.  I'd say it's worth that but not much more...

I though Ch. 3 was fantastic.  I paid north of $100 for it and would have done it several times over if available. Palates are interesting things. 🤷‍♂️

Ya might want to save the bottle since the fantail is no more. 😐

FWIW, I bought an old fantail WTKS when they announced the bottle change. It’s in my basement stash of empties. Getting a bit sentimental and nostalgic in my old age. 🙂

Good call.  I'm sentimental about the fantail bottle too, even before we found out it was going away.  I actually bought a couple cases of a really great store pick WTKS the last time I was in Kentucky a long time ago. (side note I'm long overdue for a trip back to the motherland).

Plus I still have quite a few dusties.

Maybe I should plan on doing something with my empty KS bottles as I work through them instead of just sending them to the recycle bin...

Sad face.

I recently emptied one of these and kept the bottle for future decanting if I decide to buy one of the new ones.

Finished this up yesterday. First bottle of this I purchased and I had to go out of state to find it. It grew on me the more I drank it.

Tonight I will finish my first foray into Early Times BIB.

As a test, the last sample is in the freezer,  for my first try at that.
