If the next blend works this well, I may never go back to the standards. I will keep honey barrel Sibs in tact as I have had very few bottles that I like better. Here is the post: Knob Creekin' Blind SBS... - Tasting - Straightbourbon.com Oooh! I have both of those in the bunker. Now I gotta try this blend!

It is now in the bourbon stash set aside for cookies. I get that it is a SiB but my understanding is that they shoot for a specific profile in each year's vintage. If the bottle I purchased was what they were shooting for with 2012 vintage, they might as well just flavor this stuff with honey, cinnamon, or some other flavor and sell it to that crowd. I still see a lot of EWSB 2012 bottles on the shelves. I wonder if anyone has found it good enough to purchase a second bottle. I was contemplating buying a bottle of 2012, which would be my 1st EWSB. How would you describe the palate? Your less than glowing review makes me think I should just stick with EC. B3Nut
Polishing off a bottle of New Riff BIB...this is promising stuff. I'd love to try it with a couple more years under its belt. They have potential to do something great I think....
gblick
Lately I've only been keeping a few bottles open, and mostly have been working on a handle of OWA (2000) for the past few weeks. Edited February 26, 2021 by gblick
marshall9779
Did a bottle share with a buddy last night along with some cigars. He let me try some FRSBS, an OFSIB BP pick, a Catoctin pick finished in port barrels, and an Old Scout pick. All very good.
Kjbarth
Finished bottle with a nice pour. Need to restock my cabinet.
HoustonNit
Wanted to give a Willett bottling another chance after my last Rowan Creek, 5 years ago. Old Bardstown 101, nope! Man it’s bad, tastes like a young Evan Williams black if I’m being nice or more like Kentucky Gentlemen or some type of Barton blended whiskey. Why do people love Willett, never again.

I couldn't believe they peddle that stuff for mid shelf with a straight face. Probably one of my worst pours ever.

What makes me most angry is they had the Kentucky Vintage and one or two others next to it for a similar price from Willett. Oh well such a turn off I’ll never buy another Willett. BigSkyDrams
Sip of some EHT small batch in a glencairn, followed by some HW Double Rye Syrah finish, now onto a heavy pour of Henry McKenna 10 over a big cube to close out the night. Happy Friday!

Something about the aesthetics of this photo just looks great to my eye. I think it's surely the grey colors in the countertop surface working with the grey ER label, and then juxtaposed with the the copper tones of the bourbon in the glass. Cool effect.

As many of you know, EWSiB was my gateway bourbon. It holds a special place in my palate & my bunker. However, if I tried EWSiB today, I might still be a beer hound. I hope HH can restore Parker's baby to its former glory. Cheers

I actually bought it because it was on sale and I got one of those customized labels that HH occasionally offers. Should I even bother to open it?

Wlrogers
Had some pours of a local pick of Blue Note 9 yr single barrel. Fantastic bourbon. Would put it up against most bourbons released in 2020.

Guss West
Wild Turkey 101. Best value in bourbon. Shhh; it's a secret! Had a couple heels so blended just the right amount of 4yo BIB Lairds and Benedictine into about yea much of what was in the open no-handle half-gallon of WT101. Darn if it didn't come out just right; with just the right amount of sweet apple and herbs without dominating the whiskey. Two fingers over a large cube is heavenly! Lazy man's old fashioned.
B.B. Babington
started with OF 1920 but started discussion of WLW with a buddy. Pulled out a 2011 WLW and very much enjoying it.
