Old Forester tonight.  Got a little flight going... OF1920, 2018 Birthday, and a barrel proof single barrel store pick I'm taking for a spin.

I'm having a little WT 101.

Well, the Colts went to the playoffs.  I have nothing against the Bills - beat the Colts fair and square.  Game was competitive till the very end.  I had my suspicions ahead of time - Colts traveling to play somewhere cold outdoors.  I've seen this before.  Anyway, I took a shower.  I put my Colts gear in the laundry.  I got my Chicago Bears shirt out of the closet.  That will probably last about a day. 🤪 Then, it's on to rout against the Steelers.

Well if that's not a classic case of a "homer", I just don't know what is!   😝

BTW, FIFY - the Steelers are still bums, IMHO.

And I put my Patrick Chung's Patriot's jersey (his first time around on sale, BTW) back in the closet at mid-season.  "In Bill We Trust" - HA!

Go Bucs!   🤣

Opened, and am drinking some 4R SmB Select and basking in a big Bills win, while watching my 'Cuse play G'Town. Finished up a bottle of this last month that I nursed throughout the past year and it really grew on me. Gonna take my time with this second bottle too....hopefully.

Not necessarily a fan of "The Urnge" but the rest is ok by me...😉

High West Bourye

First time I’ve had it. Bartender hooked it up. 2 heavy handed pours for $10 total. Left him a very nice tip.

Bourye was solid. Not very complex but easy sipper.

2019 FRSmbLE.  Figured it was a good pour to start the Sunday evening.  A second pour of something should be following later on, but not sure what yet.

I'm drinking Evan Williams 23 again. Last night it was to sooth the pain of the Seahawks loss.

Tonight it's in preparation of needing to sooth the pain from the Cleveland Browns loss.

OGD114 again.  Basically because it was still out in the home office, and any other bottle would have required a trip up and back down the stairs.

I’m an unabashed JB DC fan, so I was a little taken aback that this bottle didn’t seem to be hitting the notes I’d experienced with previous bottles.  Then I realized I’d had some Brie cheese to finish up lunch, and figured it was still affecting my palate even a couple hours later.

Sure enough, the second pour I had after a dinner of smoked chicken and veggies was definitely more like it.

Cheers!

As good a reason as any for me to avoid brie! 😁

Started with some Bourbon Crusaders RRSiB from a few years back. This one was a short barrel and boy are those flavors concentrated.

Finishing with some ECBP A120 and whooooo boy is this a great one.

Rare Breed Barrel Proof last night.  This bottle doesn't hit the notes it should for whatever reason.

Nothin' fancy tonight,  just some easy-sipping Woodford Reserve.    I picked up the bottle as part of an on-sale gift set with a nice crystal rocks glass.  It'll stand in at my bar for my dear departed last bottle of Statesman.

I'm having a little of the VOB 100.  There's not much left.  I'll have to go across town soon.  Funny how some bottles last a long time in the cabinet - not this.

Finished off a KC9 earlier, then after sampling a number of things that didn't hit the spot I finished up with some Larceny single barrel. I know some don't like it, but it's like a favorite pair of jeans for me.

EC Toasted Barrel. I didn’t like it when I opened it a couple months ago when I opened it, I don’t like it tonight. Where every other twice barreled bourbon has brought out the sweet, smoky, s’mores like qualities, this one has only made it more bitter and astringent (to my palate).

After a pour of KC110 (vatted), I though it was finally time to give an old dusty a try. This is the bourbon that my kids refer to as their childhood bourbon. (in their 20s & 30s now) It is the very same bottle that was used medicinally with lemon, honey and peppermint for coughs to help them sleep. (boy oh boy, it worked)

Anyway it has lasted this long because I get a funk from their products, that don't work for me. I still taste it but, there isn't the finish shock that is too off-putting.

Cheers!!!

OF 100 to start off the night. I may or may not have another pour. It depends on if I have to go out and shovel later. 😡

Shovel?  We haven't seen much snow in Indy this year.  I am ok with that.  I had a small pour of KC.  Then I had another small pour of KC.  I believe I will have another small pour of KC.  Three small pours = one large pour.
