No, I’m in NYC for the first time in 14 months.

Don't you just LOVE their sales taxes??? And on whiskey, no less.  Have they no shame?  Probably Yankees fans.   🤣

Don’t mind it, given the treasures and conversations to be found up here. Off to Connecticut in the morning.

As most of you know, we moved last year.  A lot of good things came with the move.  One bad thing was that my daily commute to work became 150 miles round trip.  Today, I started a new job less than half the distance away.  You would think that is the good news.  You would be wrong.  My wife (lilsweetpea) decided to celebrate my new job by getting me a Weller I did not have yet... That's the good news!

A long-ass walk, but a hunch that paid off… such a nice color.

I took the dog out for a walk after dinner and the next block over was having a moving sale.  The owners (friends) have already relocated to  NC.  Their son is handling the sale of items they didn’t want to move.  It starts tomorrow.  We stood there and chatted and he asked if I was interested in anything.  Most of the items were furniture pieces, glassware and decorative pieces. , so nothing drew my interest.  I then spotted a rough wooden box sitting on a table with a familiar logo.  I offered twice what it was marked but he said his father had set the price and would be happy it was going to me.  Also grabbed a Stitzel-Weller water pitcher with six matching glasses.
I may have to start checking these out more often.

That's an awesome story, and an incredible find!   You are going to love that pour.   Can you post a picture of the pitcher?

Done with the BTAC tasting, bored and looking for something else to do.

These all showed up today....

I not too long ago tried the Bonded and Full Proof.

They basically reminded me a lot of regular BT Bourbon - same mash bill and all, maybe a bit younger, and more proof.

I wasn't blown away, but if someone really likes regular BT ...

I know you say it in jest, but I’d be down for this!

BTAC is awesome, but everyone is buying any of the 5 at a reasonable price if they get the chance regardless of reviews.

We could try to put together a comparable lineup from one other distiller or mix n match. 🤷‍♂️ could be fun. . .

Haven't been buying much lately but the urge hit me today so I stopped by my local LB and brought these home.  Not all bourbon but I'm too lazy to post in the other forums.

I called his father to ask.  He said they were in his father’s bar and never used.  He believes they were from the 60’s or early 70’s.

The six double old fashioned glasses are huge and amazing.

It doesn't take a Weller whore to be jealous of those.  We're all jealous.  Nice!

Across the board rock solid pick ups!  🙌

I don’t know if you’re a cocktail person, but I find the Woodford DO to be fabulous in many of them.

Thanks, Smokinjoe. Trying to stay away from sugar so have been pretty much going neat with everything. Felt like winning a lottery today, the store usually doesn't have Ezra or DO.

I took the month off booze in April and have been mainly drinking down my stash for a while in general. But, last week I bought a 6 year SAOS, and yesterday I bought a 9 year 10 month OBSK. First bottles I’ve bought in a couple months but they seemed worthwhile

I love the WDO in cocktails as well, right now Ohio has not had it for a month or so.  Hearing there is a bottling problem (not enough bottles in the supply chain ??) .   I know there is an Indiana store waiting now 6 months for their barrel pick for the same reason.    Crazy.    Missing my WDO old fashioned.

Beyond some solid Texas choices, pickings were slim around Austin TX yesterday... but did pull a large Baby Saz and BT 750 to bring home. I had not seen 1.75's of Baby Saz..
