A buddy gave me a half bottle of Basil Hayden Dark Rye... he didn't care for it. It's too bad it's only 80 proof, it would be fantastic at 100 proof. Obviously, that's just my opinion...lol.

Wrong Winter...lol. I can't read.😁

Not necessarily! Winter began in 2021 but it extends into 2022.

WT101 has been killing it the past few days. So much so that I killed my bottle and went down to the basement to grab the big boy bottle to refill my 750 only to find that the big boy is empty! Damnit. I post this as a moment of reflection. I've recently complained about some RRSiB's I've tried and had it pointed out that these are now off the new still. This worried me that maybe the WT profile is changing. However it also occurred to me that WT101 is now probably 100% new still distillate. And it's good. Is it because of blending? Maybe. Could also be that the the single barrels are from the early runs before they were dialed in combined with being stored in some new rickhouses. The current quality of WT101 has alleviated my fears about the product off of the new still.

OWA in the glass. It’s tasting pretty darned good this evening. This is my last new label/bottle OWA. It’s a private pick done several years ago by a store that’s a bit of a drive from where I live. The funny thing is, this store also picked a barrel of BT at the same time they picked the OWA. Most of the folks in on the picks actually thought the BT turned out to be the better of the two picks. I agree. 😋

Started with an OGD BiB while whipping up some shrimp n' grits w/ kielbasa breakfast sausage on top of baked Texas toast w/ poached egg topper. Sorry, no pictures; would need a fluoroscope...

KC12 - desert

I'm not telling you anything you don't already know but some special BT private picks can be amazing.  Glad you got one!

Started the evening with a couple of small pours of Remus Reserve. Very tasty.

Now onto KCSiB PS.  While I enjoyed the Remus, KC just knocks it out of the park.

Cheers

Oh snap! If you posted this in PRC it might set off a three page tirade!

Glad to see you doing well.
