JW Dant bonded, but it is hard to find here.:o

100% on the JW Dant if it's available near you. $16.99 for a 1L at a store near me, always have it on hand.

opened this one to enjoy by the fire tonight after shoveling snow. I did a side by side with WT101 and this bottle wasn't that much better than it. Definitely not enough to warrant the extra price compared to the WT101. It was store pick as well. Hopefully it gets better with some air time.

I remember this being pretty good, but really exceeded expectations. Fantastic.

One of my favorite pours - just outstanding.

Remove the photo of the RR and I swear you could replicate this post with most highly sought after bourbons.

New bottle of SAOS (NAS) batch 44. I’ve had several MGP bottles in the past few years that just taste young and disappointing. Unfortunately this is no different. Not a fan.

These always make me miss the great batches of SAOS from the late 20-teens. Batch 166 was some of the best bourbon I’ve had and I think I’m just bound to be disappointed by anything else from Smooth Ambler.

Picked this up in a trade today. Don’t know anything about the quality of the contents, but figured this may be my only opportunity to obtain something like this. As you can see, the fill level is pretty low leading me to believe there is a bad seal. So I’ll be cracking it later today after errands, but wanted to see if anyone has any information on source or tasting notes. . .

Will post my thoughts tonight. Happy Sunday!

No info on source but I have one of these and it's fantastic. Reminiscent of the pre BT Van Winkle rye and some of those WFE 20+ yr old ryes that were in circulation back in the early 2010's. Probably pulled from the same sources.

Did not disappoint. Very minty on the nose. Eucalyptus? Light, delicate on the palate with gingerbread type spices. Long oaky finish. Definitely glad to have this one.

Ezra Brooks is my go to for mixers.  I recently came across a couple of Ezra products that I had to try.  The left one is a Distiller's Collection where retail liquor stores can hand pick a barrel of their liking for distribution in their stores.  This barrel selection is from Wine, Beer, and Spirits.  Big retail store that is in Omaha and Lincoln, NE.  The other is a Cask Strength Single Barrel.  Both are great sippers of the classic Ezra profile, sweet cherry, brown sugar, and some peanut on the finish.  Just a solid classic bourbon taste. The Cask Strength is 120 proof but drinks more like a 100 proof.  Both were recently opened and as you can see from the bottles I have been enjoying them regularly!

Every time I open a bottle of Turkey, I question why I drink anything else.

I have to completely agree.  101 has got to be simply the best bourbon in the under $25 category.  I have some other bourbons in my selection at twice the price that just don't drink as good or smooth as the WT101.  One of my favorites in the Wild Turkey selection is the Russell's Single barrel.  Damn fine bourbon.  Dean

Hi Dean,

Welcome! That's some good bourbon!

The Ezra Brooks DC and CS private-select bottles I've tried have ranged from very-good to mind-blowing.  Seems to be plenty to go around right now, too.  Just grabbed another case of this when our new barrel dropped here in CT.

And; well, of course; as always, GOBBLE TILL YOU WOBBLE!!!

Prost!

I really don’t need another open bottle. 😏 So, I decided to open a Old Forester 1920. 🤔 Yeah, I don’t get it either. 🤣

Purchased and opened an Old Fo 86 pr today.  On the heels of a recent 100 proof OF pick up, I can confirm I enjoy this lower proof version more.  The overall balance and lack of prickliness is better for my tastes.  I’m also thinking this may be a staple freezer whiskey as the temps rise heading into Summer.

I too prefer the 86 proofer, and in my book it’s not even close.
