After a weekend of my central air barely keeping pace, My Honey heading to South Florida for the week to bring MY DIL & Grandson back home and eating leftovers, there was but one thing to do; An OF86 freezer pour or three. I'm calling the gift horse, here!!!

Enjoying a rare Sunday pour. Chose a paper label OF 86. A unique whiskey, for me. It has a  burnt sugar, pecan pie filling thing going on. Delicious. I never have found an older OF 100, but I still keep an eye out.

Cheers

I enjoyed the OF 86 so much, I am now onto OF 1920. Very similar, but for the burnt sugar flavor, the 86 proof has it beat by a country mile. Still, if you like Old Forester profile, you need the 1920 on your bar.

Cheers

Our offer on new home was accepted today so starting early with a nice 3 finger pour of WTRB. Probably going to be my last one for awhile as it has gone to $62.99 here.

Congratulations!

Sipping on some Green River blended into a cherry limeade,  actually very refreshing.

Had the last itty bitty pour from a 375 of OF 1910. Followed that up with a couple of pours of MM. 😋

The neck pour was quite hot, but have had several more now, and it has opened up a lot. The nose in particular is much better now - first pour all I was getting was ethanol, but now getting a lot of complex  notes of oak and fruits.

I got the ol’ “whoops I poured to much” pour.

Is that from the gal who shakes uncontrollably when pouring the legally mandated single in order to boost the pour? I tip her well.

I hope your air travels are delay/cancellation free. I go out in the morning.

Regards, Dave

I wish you guys luck with your travels. My son and his wife were recently on vacation in Europe. They only had a couple of fairly minor issues. Fortunately they returned home just before this latest mess of delays and cancellations.

Having some Bookers from the ‘90’s tonight. Of course I had to decant the bottle several years ago because……anyone,anyone,anyone….. the cork broke.

Always keep a good screw top bottle around.
Good juice.

On vacation, so…….picked out a WTKS PS. It is a little off profile, but still very good. Very viscous, strong sweetness, but not a lot of spice. Loooonnngg finish.

Cheers

Took a pause from whisky for two or so weeks. Decided to jump back on the train with some Weller 12 out on the backyard deck. A great relaxing pour after couple of busy weeks.
