I think as long as you insist on adhering to the second definition, you are doing fine...

Took a drive to Ann Arbor today found a couple.

Old Ezra 7 is for a buddy at the shop

The Early Times, is from the Early Times distillery not the Sazerac Co.

EC is A123

Larceny is B522

I. E. Harper 15 yr,    I have been looking for this one for awhile.  $72

Wheeel House, is a favorite of mine with a great price point.

Koval  well, Lets just say I will not be replacing the bottle. A friend said it was a good pour.  I have to question his palate at this point...lol

I always assume these folks have invested in said distilleries.  ;)

Also, those older ET BiB are fantastic.

Yes Anwalt is right!!  I grabbed a few extra bottles of this last year because I discovered that it had a little bit of the cherry pie flavor I love about WTMK BiB 17year, albeit in smaller quantities and without the other great regular WT flavor notes.  But for the price, I really like this IW Harper 15 because it offers something you just don't get every day, especially at that price.  As a bonus, the little devil inside me also kinda likes that new taters tend to turn up their little noses at the low proof of this particular bottle.  That's alright -- their loss; our gain 😉

Will do probably open it this coming weekend.  A SBS with the C922 will be in order.

Who produces the distillate for IW Harper? I’ve passed on this several times.

The info I've found online says it is the New Bernheim Distillery.  One article says it is aged at Stitzel-Weller.

Picked up a bottle of Four Roses 2021 limited edition Small Batch Barrel Strength. Anyone try this? A bit steep price wise but I am liking some different 4R batches.

Found the 2021 and the 2022 for decent prices over the past few weeks, did not yet dare to open them, waiting for a nice moment......

Carpe diem! May open one this Sunday on my 51st birthday, though, come to think of it, I have a bourbon tasting that day with 7 samples...... Will see!

This afternoon, I got a call from my regular LS manager.  He said it would be worth my while to swing by.  He didn’t lie.  I owe him a dozen doughnuts.

Yep I assume sourced from HH.   I've only downed one bottle so far but to me it did not really taste like a typical HH.
