markandrex
Replaced a few gfci outlets down near the pool today. Then I went to check the hot tub and found that my circulation pump has failed. Tonigh I am relaxing with some Redemption 10 year, while I look for the replacement pump.

mbroo5880i
Not one, not two, but a trifecta of pours of Ritt BIB SiB Kroger Store Select. Ya man. It is actually really good and this bottle was only $23. Yes, Cheap Bastards always know what they pay.

Wedelstaedt
Opening up with WP15. I want to like this whisky, but it always disappoints. On the bright side, it has a really fancy cork topper. Happy FRyeDay

At least for tonight, the Sagamore won over the WP15 & Pikesville (and I love Pikesville.) Sagamore is doing some good things. Cheers

Cheers I really like it, very funky tasting. Its a 90% Rye and 10% Malt. Not sure where it came from. When I get back to Kentucky I will defiantly pick up another one.
GaryT
Enjoying a Preakness with some Penelope Tokaji Cask Finish 8 year straight rye (which was provided as a courtesy sample). I like the rye (my brother-in-law and wife thought it was horrible, but what do they know); 95/5 mash so the dill/mint nose you'd expect with some almond cookie and floral notes thrown in. The palate is dry with honey, mint, cinnamon, chocolate orange and caramel, followed by a finish that's dry with orange zest and tobacco. Going really well in this Preakness after watching the Wings just clobber the Blues on a Saturday afternoon!

Thomm
I missed Fryeday this week, opting to polish off my waning Early Times BIB bottle, so tonight a nice pour of Sagamore Spirit Cask Strength made up for the error. Chronology is overrated anyway.

FasterHorses
picked up a 17 double rye with a fellow sb’er this week. Forgot how much i love these “older” HW.
Mattk
I was intrigued enough to drive up to PA today for one of these. A 80/20 rye with no corn from JB. By the time I got there I decided to grab 3. At $40 a piece I figured it was worth the risk considering the drive.

So it seems to be JB leaning into a more traditional mash for the label. Other then that I know very little. It seems to currently only be available in PA. I was just really excited to try a new rye mashbill from JB. It's not mind blowing, but good enough I had three pours. It's a 4 year at 95 proof, and as stated on the last post a 80/20 rye without corn.
Davesnothere
I live near the Jack Daniel's distillery, and I stop by often to check on what's available in the gift shop. About a month or so ago I stopped in and they had some barrel proof ryes. I typically buy a barrel proof JD any time I find one over 130 proof. That day I found one that was 134.3 proof so I bought it. I stopped by this past weekend and found one that was 134.5 proof. I knew I had just bought one that was about the same proof that I hadn't yet opened, but I couldn't remember the exact proof. So, I decided to buy it anyway even if was from the same barrel. It turns out they were adjacent barrels in the rick house and dumped on the same day! I'm going to have a few friends over for a blind tasting to see if we can detect a difference, a Jack off if you will.

Damn - I've never had that high proof of a JD rye, but can imagine it is delicious! The Coy Hill bottle that @smokinjoe shared with some of us idiots a year or so ago was some of the best JD I'd ever tasted. Enjoy!!

Kepler
I had a rye-based cocktail at dinner tonight, does that count for a fRyeDay pour? Called a "Spaghetti Western" which I've never had before. Made with HW Double Rye. Attaching the description from the bar menu...

I don't think I've ever seen a JD "barrel proof" Rye or Tennessee whiskey (aka bourbon) under 130 proof. But I haven't actually been looking for JDBP for at least a couple years, maybe more.
Wedelstaedt
Earlier, I had a RY10. Then moved to a more appropriate dram for fRYEday, WTMK Cornerstone. Now, I have Pikesville in the glass. Cheers Edited March 2 by Wedelstaedt Spelling

I prefer them at the lower end of the spectrum, but it's a buy for me at any ABV.
