I picked up another bottle of EW BIB, the glass bottle this time. And I got a bottle of GD No12.

MissingKY
Found a 2006 OFBB today for $32. I'd read good reviews of that year's vintage on the site, and since that seemed like a relatively good deal I pulled the trigger. The place also had some 2005, but it seems like the general consensus was that the 2006 > 2005. I like this quite a bit. It's got a nice little minty flavor in the finish, and the nose is pretty rich. I'm curious about the 2005 vintage now, but I might hang onto the cash on the off chance I can track down a dusty 2002 or 2003.
Buffalo Bill
I bought another bottle of Sam Houston from this good batch. Also picked up a 375ml Knob Creek that's hotter than usual. It was kickin' BB

gr8erdane
Just got back from my sister's house in Colorado Springs where my last hungint foray netted four WT12 splits from one store. This time wasn't as productive. Out of about 15 stores in the area she lives, I came home with a couple of Old Forester 86s, a BHC boxed VSOF 12, a Charter 10, a handle of the older label Charter 8, and a Colorados' Own Corn Whiskey that I'll be bringing to the Sampler. I was informed from a couple of store owners that at least one other bourbon hound had been through a while back and cleaned out their old stocks. Hope my next visit will be more like the previous one.

gothbat
Pappy 15 -- haven't come back to this since the too-woody first edition.Based on that I'm wondering how you will find the, presumably, current one you just got. Although I've probably never had the first edition I loved the first few bottles of this I bought a few years back but the last bottle or two I've had didn't taste the same as I recall the first few tasting, to me there was definitely a lot of wood in there. I know it's different whiskey but still, I'm curious.

kickert
Picked up a bottle of Virginia Gentleman "The Fox" tonight to split. It was only $20. That surprised me because many threads from '02 listed the price as $20. What does this go for elsewhere?
gblick
I found a couple of dusties today. Anyone know anything about these or ever tried them? The Ten High Ten has 90 imprinted into the bottom of the bottle, so I'm assuming it was bottled in 1990, and it's 86 proof.
mozilla
Nice finds Gus. I found one of the 10highs last trip to Houston. Should be some good Barton 10yr juice. The OC is probably just regular OC from Louisville, but at a higher proof and age. Should be real tasty. Somewhere there's a comment from Julian that the first 15yo marketed as Pappy (instead of Old Rip 15/107) was in the barrel closer to 16 years.... found the comment here! fishnbowljoe
Found a place that had Dickel 12, so I had to pick up a bottle of that. I also got a 375 of ERSB 10/90. Stopped at another place and bought an older wax dipped bottle of ETL. Finally hit my favorite store and got a bottle of BTAC 2008 Handy. I finally used the gift certificate my wife gave me for Xmas. I wonder if it's a similar case with the last 2 I had... I was never 100% because I don't think there is a way to tell when any of these are from but I had a tendency to associate the woodiness with the assumption that the first few bottles I had were (or at least probably were...) different distillate than what is currently out there. sotnsipper
I picked up another bottle of OGD BIB and VOB BIB. I am hoping I have a better experience with the OGD this time. As for the VOB, I had it in the Glencairn crystal last and it really appealed to me, had to get another. Also got a bottle of the VSOF and a little AAA 10 yr this week I haven't posted here yet. I am glad it is going to be a long weekend, I have a lot to hit, some for the first time!

Jono
Actually, today my brother -in- law insisted on buying me a replacement bottle of BT as thanks for helping out on moving some household items for his mother etc. BT, a great regular go to bourbon. I will be interested in comparing my 2000 bottle with the new juice.
